ABSTRACT VIOLENCE
"CROSSOVERIZED"
Self Released

ABSTRACT VIOLENCE started back in early 2011 out of Greece. As you would expect
from the bands name & logo, they are a Crossover Thrash Metal band. These guys take
things back to the early days of the Punk / Thrash crossover movement. They have a very
raw and aggressive style that is found in early Thrash with some more angry and pissed off
sounding D.I.Y. Punk. There are a lot of cool bands playing this style today like
TOXIC
HOLOCAUST
& LETHAL AGGRESSION, now ABSTRACT VIOLENCE can be
added to the list. Their sound is a bit noisier than some bands, which is why they tend to
lean more towards the Punk side in that aspect. The song arrangements and especially the
guitars is where a lot of the Thrash elements become very present. I liked the mixture of
vocal styles as well. The vocals are mostly done in a mid to low ranged Thrash Metal style,
but with a more gritty and angry Punk attitude. I grew up in the time when these two styles
were originally merging and have always loved these kind of bands.
ABSTRACT
VIOLENCE
is good reminder of the fact that stripped down raw Metal & Punk music is a
lot better than a lot of the polished studio perfect crapped that the music industry is
pouring out these days!
