BLOOD NIGHT:
THE LEGEND OF MARY HATCHET
(R)
LIONSGATE (2009)

Starring: Bill Moseley, Danielle Harris, Nate Dushku, Samantha Siong , Anthony Marks & more.

On the night of an urban legend a group of teens decide to do a special celebration. They go to the
burial place of Mary Hatchet, who ten years prior slaughtered a bunch of people and was gunned
down herself. This night became known as "Blood Night". The teens decide to do some drinking and
partying around her grave site and then do some rituals to try and contact her spirit. After they are
done they head back to one of their homes to continue partying. One of the new girls at the party
starts telling some stories and creeping out the rest of the people. They all start to separate (which we
all know is a big no, no in Horror films. They soon all start to be killed off by some mysterious killer.
Is this the return of Mary Hatchet or is it someone else, who knows, but most won't be left alive to
find out. This was a decent Horror suspense film that keeps you trying to figure out who is the killer,
but it is soon revealed. I dig the serial killer Slasher type films no matter how simple or involved they
are. This one would fall some where in the middle. It really helped that there were two Horror icon
favorites, Bill Moseley (
DEVIL'S REJECTS, TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2) & Danielle
Harris (
HALLOWEEN, HATCHET). Fans of "killer" Slasher films of the 80's till now will really dig
this film a lot!
