| HOW DOES FETUS EATERS & WATCH ME BURN DIFFER FROM EACH OTHER & DEADFOOD IN STYLE, SOUND, ETC...? DEADFOOD runs the gamut of sounds (that I have crassly detailed previously). FETUS EATERS is just simple Grindcore, with the added bonus of saxophone, bike horn, train whistle, kazoo, or anything else I can get my hands on to make an extra noise to break up the monotony of typical Grindcore. You know, 1-2-1-2 stop, scream, grunt, blah blah blah. Some people hate it, fuck 'em...scumbags. WATCH ME BURN is more serious as far as song writing goes; but it stays within a genre: Sludgy Grindcore with a hint of psychedelic melody. Tons of screaming. In WATCH ME BURN's short existence, we've had the luck of opening up for CATTLE DECAPITATION, PHOBIA, PIG DESTROYER & VULGAR PIGEONS. We've been getting great responses everywhere, which is really tripping me out, cuz...well...I am not used to that-haha! ARE YOU INTO ANY OTHER STYLES OF MUSIC BESIDES WHAT YOU PLAY? WHO ARE SOME OF THE BANDS YOUR CURRENTLY INTO? I love Jazz. John Coltrane, Ornette Coleman, Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, KOTO (a Japanese percussion group), Sigur Ros has been in my CD player as of late. TRIBES OF NEUROT, David S. Ware (he is picking up where Coltrane left off), Johnny Cash, Aretha Franklin, THE LOCUST, MELT BANANA, Christoph De Babylon ( a great soundscape & digital Hardcore kat), along with BRUTAL TRUTH, CEPHALIC CARNAGE, CRIPPLE BASTARDS, HIGH ON FIRE, JUCIFER, GASP, YACOPSAE, CHEWABLE CYST & JUD JUD. THERE SEEMS TO BE A GREAT MUSIC SCENE IN CALIFORNIA. WHO ARE SOME OF THE BETTER BANDS, LABELS, ZINES, ETC...YOU WOULD SUGGEST? Well first of all, Los Angeles sucks; everyone wants to be someone else-fucking scumbags. But anyway...Bands: RADIATION 4 (amazing technical-emotional Hardcore/Jazz/Noise), N.O.Y.F.B., THE LOCUST, SHIVA, ANUBIS RISING, BAD ACID TRIP. Labels: DEEP SIX, AGITATE 96, SLAP-A-HAM, NUCLEAR BBQ. Zines: SHORT FAST & LOUD, SKRATCH (even though they mainly cover shitty Punk bands, they still do a great job at it). DO YOU REMEMEBER WHERE YOU WERE & WHAT YOU WERE DOING WHEN YOU 1ST HEARD ABOUT THE TERRORIST ATTACK IN NEW YORK ON 9-11-01? ANY COMMENTS ON THIS TRAGEDY? I was house sitting for a friend. I had the radio on all night & when I awoke I thought what I heard was a joke. It sounded like War Of The Worlds part 2. My friend's mom's girlfriend called & started telling me what happened. I flipped on the shit box (TV) & was blown away at what I saw. Comments..."Can't we all get along" WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE TV SHOWS & MOVIES? TV: The Simpsons, Politically Incorrect, Howard Stern. CNN late at night when the Middle Eastern chick is on there-dude, she is so hot, she reminds me of this chick I work with. Movies: Boogie Nights, Gummo, Kids, Julien Donkey Boy, Magnolia, Little Big Man, Texas Chainsaw. WHAT ARE YOUR VIEWS ON THE FOLLOWING TOPICS: SEX, DRUGS, RELIGION, RACISM, THE MUSIC INDUSTRY? Sex: I wish I could hit every chick I thought was hot, at least, for a week. Drugs: Legalize-all of it. Religion: It kills more people than drugs do & it's stupid. I hate religion, if your gonna belive in something, believe in yourself. Racism: ignorance, it's pathetic. Don't hate someone cuz of the skin color or racial background, hate them for the pathetic individual that they are. Music Industry: It's called "the music business", not "music art". There is no art end of it, at least on the mainstream scale, once in awhile something slips through the cracks, but it's mostly watered down music of yesteryear. Maybe I am bitter cuz I've been doing this shit for 12 years & don't have much to show for it-haha. WHAT CAN WE EXPECT TO SEE NEXT FROM DEADFOOD? Well, DEADFOOD is doing a month long U.S. tour this summer. After that, we will record a new CD. We have 9 new songs ready, by the time we get back from tour, we will have a few more.
