DEEP RED (R)
ANCHOR BAY (1975)

Starring: David Hemmings, Daria Nicolodi, Gabriele Lavia, Macha Meril, Eros Pagni & more.

This is one of the best films from Italian Horror master Dario Argento. If your a fan of his then you'll
love this film, if not you might be taking a chance on the film. This one plays out more as a murder
mystery film than an all out Horror flick. David Hemmings plays Marcus who is a Jazz musician. He is
coming home late one night and witnesses his neighbor being murdered. Marcus then teams up with a
reporter who becomes very helpful in finding out who the killer is. A professor who Marcus called
upon to help eventually ends up dead as well. Marcus feels he will be the next one to die if he doesn't
find the killer first. This is the first film where Argento started using more gore in his films. I am a big
fan of Argento's work, but this is not one of my favorites. I enjoyed the film for the most part, but
prefer his films
SUSPIRIA or TENEBRE better. If your a fan of Dario Argento then you've probably
seen this already, but if not, you might not get the feel of his works and will either love it or hate it.
