| EVIL INCARNATE HAS BEEN AROUND FOR JUST ABOUT TEN YEARS NOW. CAN YOU GIVE A HISTORY LESSON ON THE BAND UP TO THIS POINT SO FAR? HOW DID YOU GET TOGETHER? ANY PREVIOUS BANDS MEMBERS WERE IN BEFORE? There is an informative biography on our site www.EVILINCARNATE.cjb.net that lists all these things you asked. I formed the band as a project, but began to like it more, so I took it full time. YOU STARTED THE BAND UNDER THE NAME APOLLYN THAN CHANGED IT TO EVIL INCARNATE. WHY THE NAME CHANGE & WHY WERE THESE NAMES CHOSEN? They were both chosen due to the Satatnic, Blasphemic & Anti-Christian nature & I am mostly influenced by these types of bands. I had to change the name due to bands already having APOLLYN or something very similar. YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN A BIG INFLUENCE ON A LOT OF BANDS IN THE UNDERGROUND. WHO OR WHAT HAD SOME INFLUENCE ON YOU CREATING YOUR STYLE & SOUND? The main ones are problably SLAYER, DARK ANGEL, HELL HAMMER/CELTIC FROST, BATHORY, BAPHOMET, VITAL REMAINS, DEICIDE, MORBID ANGEL, ENTOMBED, GRAVE, DISMEMBER, UNLEASHED, DEATH & BOLT THROWER... HOW WOULD YOU BEST DESCRIBE THE STYLE & SOUND OF EVIL INCARNATE TO SOMEONE WHO HAS YET TO HEAR YOU? I would say we could have easily been one of the bands from the 89/92 era of Death Metal domination/explosion, taking strong influences from this era without copying anyones shit intentionally if ever. I really enjoy BLOODBATH as they strongly resemble this era I think. YOUR NEWEST RELEASE "WAITING FOR HIS RETURN" CAME OUT CLOSE TO A YEAR AGO. HOW WELL HAS THE RESPONSE BEEN TO THIS CD? As well as can be expected from such a great underground label that is of course limited. You can not expect everyone to ALL like every single band out there but generally we are always liked very well. We have our strongest support in places like Norway, Poland, Germany, Ukraine & recently it seems Greece, but Europe is of course always better for this extreme Metal & accepts us well although it is also slowly getting better in the States here for Metal & we do have support strongly from South America despite our views. |

| THIS CD WAS PUT OUT BY HELLS HEADBANGERS. HOW DID YOU GET HOOKED UP WITH THEM? HOW HAS IT BEEN WORKING WITH THEM? They did our "BLACKEST HYMNS OF GODS DISGREACE" vynal LP, so we went with them for a new CD as well since they do very good work (not that anyone else we worked with before didn't) I know I can trust these guys & they are truely fans of the band. THE COVER ART FOR THIS CD IS GREAT. CAN YOU EXPLAIN IT A LITTLE BIT & WHO DID IT? Juanjo Castellano from Spain did the art & has worked for METAL BLADE, VOMITORY, INCANTATION & tons of other great labels & bands. The idea of the art is custom to fit the title tracks lyrics... |
| CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT THE SUBJECT MATTER IN YOUR SONGS? WHICH IS YOUR FAVORITE SONG & WHY? The title track "WAITING FOR HIS RETURN" is my fave partially because I got to do all the guitars besides the bass in the studio but also because I like the lyrical concept of Hitler & his Panzer divisions coming from Hell to ally with Lucifer & Demonic Forces to destroy heaven. I'm a huge fan of the SS Ocult connection of WW2 era Germany. IT TOOK YOU OVER 4 YEARS BETWEEN THIS RELEASE & YOUR LAST ONE. WHY SUCH A LONG PERIOD BETWEEN RELEASES? Mostly due to asshole ego trip ex-band mates & going thru 4 drummers & finding/losing jam spots to practice. When ever we would get tight with a drummer we had to catch up on shows as well. YOU COVERED A SLAYER SONG & A DESTRUCTION SONG ON THIS ALBUM? WHICH SONGS DID YOU COVER & WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THESE SONGS? We chose these songs because the band was broken up because I was tired of the bull shit I was dealing with @ the time & needed more time for the CD to be a full length. EVIL INCARNATE HAS BEEN ON A LOT OF TRIBUTE ALBUMS, CAN YOU TELL US WHICH ONES YOU APPEARED ON? SLAYER (2x), TWISTED SISTER, VENOM, DESTRUCTION, BLACK SABBATH & we are suppose to be doing next NUN SLAUGHTER & DEICIDE if I have the time, but of course I would be more interested to catch up on my own songs with projects I am commited to. IS THERE ANY NEWER MATERIAL IN THE WORKS OR ALREADY AVAILABLE? WILL THIS BE RELEASED BY HELLS HEADBANGERS ALSO? There is the exclusive track recorded for the SATANIC SKINHEAD PROPAGANDA compilation CD coming soon, the split 7" EP with us & XENOPHOBIA from S.S.P. & THE INFERNAL THRASHING coming out soon, the exclusive track for the SMASHING RAINBOWS: Rock Against Homosexuality CD compilation coming soon, the exclusive track for the PAGAN FRONT CD coming, the exclusive tracks CD compilation TRIBUTE TO MATT HALE Volume 1 from CONDEMNED RECORDS coming, & finally the split 7" EP with us & BLASPHERIAN (ex IMPRECATION) on HELLS HEADBANGERS coming soon as well. So far only 2 of these are all ready to go & the rest I just recently commited to, but keep checking my website for more information on release dates. |

| TELL US ABOUT YOUR UPCOMING TOUR "PASSOVER MASSACRE 3". WHO WILL BE ON IT & WHERE WILL IT BE HELD? Excuse the confussion, but it was a FEST not a Tour & was cancelled due to bomb threats. I actually am doing the band all by myself now days with a drum machine until I find the right musicians. I might work in the future with Garrett, my last drummer, but he can be a royal pre madonna so I'm unsure at this time. AFTER ALL THESE YEARS & MANY SHOWS, DO ANY OF THEM STAND OUT FOR ANY REASON? WHAT WERE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE SHOWS YOU DID? The old Central, Illinoise Metal Fest Von from DEADEN use to do back in the day were fuckin awesome. That's before NILE got huge & signed to RELAPSE, NUM SKULL was around so i did both bands & WACO JESUS singer Shane was still doing HOT STOVE. PAZUZU was around, USURPER were still doing demos & just signing to HEAD NOT FOUND, Norway (SLAYER MAG label) & FULL MOON PRODUCTIONS was like thee place for raw/hateful Black Metal at the time in the states. For some reason it's just different now & I miss these old days of being relatively unknown in the scene. ARE THERE ANY GOOD INTERESTING BAND STORIES YOU COULD SHARE WITH US? HAHAHA! I would love to but I will probably get myself in trouble again with the law! I can tell you about the time in Mexico City when we were on the tour bus waiting to headline & could hear all the way in the street people yelling & chanting "FUCKIN WHITE BOYS" this & that "FUCK YOU" & shit & our road crew were running on & off the bus telling us to stay inside. Eventually the crowd relaxed & we went onstage anyways without fear & brought the roof down, we tore it up so hard, they made us play an encore & we were then respected. Talk about thinking you might die on stage tonight, but I had my bass ready like a huge battle axe & played my ass off that night! My fill in drummer was so scared I think he shit his pants, but we kept telling him to fucking play & don't be a pussy damn it. At times we were one of the only tours going around because it was weeks after 9-11 & everyone else was cancelling, but not EVIL INCARNATE... WHAT DO YOU FEEL IS THE BEST & WORST PART ABOUT BEING IN A BAND? Dudes thinking that you have to kiss there ass & worship them or they won't play. ARE YOU INTO ANY OTHER STYLES OF MUSIC BESIDES WHAT YOU PLAY? WHO ARE SOME OF THE BANDS YOU HAVE CURRENTLY BEEN LISTENING TO? I like NSBM & HATE CORE/HARD CORE & some RAC. To name a few I like HATE FOREST, SONS OF SATAN, SATANIC WARMASTER, KILL, DER STURMER, WOTAN ORDEN, BULLY BOYS, JEW SLAUGHTER, VAGINAL JESUS, BOUND FOR GLORY, BLUE EYED DEVILS, ANGRY ARYANS, BRUTAL ATTACK & much more. Oh yeah I actually heard a couple bands that are new now days I really lik called DEVIL DRIVER & BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, but trust me they're not doing anything we all haven't already done in Death Metal for years. Sounds like DISMEMBER if you ask me!!! |

| WHAT DO THE MEMBERS OF THE BAND DO WHEN NOT DOING ANY WORK FOR THE BAND? HOBBIES, JOBS, ETC? HAHAHA I gues that's just me then right now, I do interior & exterior painting & if I'm not doing that I'm making pizza in a shit bar or something for a living so no there's no cash in the underground, it's for the love of your musick. For hobbies, I get out my aggressions besides musically through stregnth training & mixed martial arts with my coach UFC fighter Dave Strausser. The only other hobbies I have are just being a die hard fan of the Metal, getting pussy as much as I can & getting ficking wasted with my bro's on Pilsners & maybe some good ol Jimmie Beam once in a while... WHAT WAS THE FIRST ALBUM YOU REMEMBER BUYING? WHAT WAS THE FIRST CONCERT YOU EVER ATTENDED? Shit man, probably QUIET RIOT - "METAL HEALTH" when i was like 10 (now I'm 32) & it wasn't out very long I don't think. I went to a lot of smaller local gigs, but my mom was a real bitch about Metal being a big time holy roller but I finally got to see EXODUS - "FABULOUS DISASTER" tour with FORBIDDEN & that was my 1st big one. |
| HOW DO YOU FEEL THE BAND HAS IMPROVED OR CHANGED AFTER ALL THESE YEARS? HOW DO YOU FEEL THE UNDERGROUND SCENE HAS CHANGED AFTER ALL THESE YEARS? I guess if you do anything long enough your going to get better at it. I know the ins & outs with how things work now that I'ma veteran. The underground has only changed in that it's gotten bigger due to the net. There's still guys dedicated to keeping it traditional like the older ways of vynal, tapes & snail mail, ect, so that I can respect & relate to, it brings you back so it's cool. WHAT IS ONE THING PEOPLE WOULD BE SURPRISED TO FIND OUT ABOUT YOU? Somethings are better left unsaid. WHAT CAN WE EXPECT TO SEE NEXT FROM EVIL INCARNATE? Hopefully you'll see me avoiding this FELONY HATE CRIME prison sentence I'm currently on trial for & pleading not guilty... WHAT WERE YOU DOING BEFORE THIS INTERVIEW? WHAT WILL YOU DO NOW THAT IT'S DONE? I was drinking coffee & getting breakfast. Now I'm going to check a few more emails & hit my heavy bag squat rack... THANX FOR ANSWERING THIS INTERVIEW.
