FINAL CONFLICT is a killer Punk / Hardcore band out of Los Angeles, California that
started back in 1983. "ASHES TO ASHES" is the bands debut LP release that came out in
1987 and is now has been re-released by TANKCRIMES RECORDS last year. These
guys are definitely one of the originators of the Crossover style that merged Punk and
Metal together. They have a very strong 70's British Punk Rock vibe to them with some
heaviness of East Hardcore thrown in the mix. They have a very raw and aggressive, but
up beat and pissed off old school Punk Rock style. This is a must for all those older Punk
fans that grew up in the '70's and early '80's. They reminded me of a lot of the bands of
that time I was exposed to when I was hanging out with all my skateboard friends. The
gritty and D.I.Y. style takes me back to the good old days of Punk. The guitars sound has
a bit of a Thrash Metal vibe and this is where a lot of the Crossover comes in. This is a
must for all fans of bands like DISCHARGE, THE GERMS, BLACK FLAG, MINOR
THREAT, GANG GREEN, THE ACCUSED, THE EXPLOITED, GBH & early
D.R.I. I'm a huge old school Punk / Hardcore fan, so of course I was loving this re-issue.
Everyone should check this out and hear where the roots of Crossover comes from,
because we wouldn't have half the bands out there now playing this style if it wasn't for
