| COULD YOU PLEASE GIVE A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE BAND & HOW YOU GOT TOGETHER? GOLD FUR EISEN was born in 1996. There was my idea to start a band with a material image. The lyrics should be talk about the German history without fear. And "hot topics" don't exist for us. In the first weeks Deddy, the bass player & I developed the first songs alone in a little room under a club roof. A drummer was not to find. After six months we came together with an old friend, who played guitar. But it was so bad, that we stood still on the same place. 1997 we found a drummer, Mirco. He was an evil guy with a tattoed body, peirced nose, ears, tongue, dick. But he was a crazy & heavy drummer. He was the right man for us. In the same year we met Sven. A 2-meter guy with long black hair, who don't speak. This line up produced the first CD "KIEN MORGEN". It's a rough, heavy & brutal release. Our gigs were little sensations with an entrails eating girl, pistol shots in the audience & other things. Mirco married & went to Ostfriesland. That's the reason the second album was recorded with out a drummer. After the release of "HEIMAT" Sven leaves us. It was a shock, but went other ways. He said "No more music" & "No more people", because he was an extremely misanthrop. In the last two years, I worked many time for distribution our releases, for my radio show, for my Metal Festival "Bands Battle" & other things. But since three months Deddy & I working on new material. The ready songs are called "Wegwerfen (Ballade Vom Mull-Land)", "Throw Away (Ballade Of the Garbage land)", "Der Gast (Ballade Uber Die Reflektion Einer Ausstellung)", "The Guest (Ballade About The Reflection Of An Ecposition)", & "DerSoldner (Ballade Von Der Gewohnlichkeit Der Gewalt)", "The Mercenary (Ballade About The habit Of The Violence)". WHY WAS THE NAME GOLD FUR EISEN CHOSEN AS THE BANDS NAME & WHAT DOES IT MEAN? He was chosen, because he beats a bridge to the German history. During the liberation wars of the Germans against the strange rule of Napoleon 1813-1814 the king of the Preuben called the people to help the army with money & other things. And the people came & gave the last - decoration, cloths, silver cutlery & so on - for buying uniforms & weapons for the soldiers. It was the birth of a strong German nation. And in the literature this situation was called "And then they came & they gave gold for iron..." |

| WHO OR WHAT HAS HELPED INFLUENCE YOU IN CREATING YOUR MUSIC? The music will build around the lyrics. First there are the words, then grows the music in me. It can be a long process. Deddy & Sven worked different. My influence to create the music are pictures of the story I have to tell. It's like a movie in my head. And the music is the score. HOW WOULD YOU BEST DESCRIBE THE STYLE & SOUND OF GOLD FUR EISEN? |
| We have definately our own style. You can find every kind of Heavy Metal in our sound. There is Black, Death & Thrash Metal & you can hear True Metal, Oi or epic sounds in our songs. All these things support the meaning of the lyrics. COULD YOU GIVE A LITTLE INFORMATION ON YOUR RELEASES "KEIN MORGEN" & "HEIMAT"? What could I say. "KEIN MORGEN" is our first CD (the first release is the demo "HEIMKEHRER"). The music is very rough & strange. the lyric speak about alcoholism, dying society, nationalism. You can find in every song many irony. "Sie War 10" is about child abuse. The fucker describe, what he do with the little girl. There fore we had problems with an lawyer. "HEIMAT" is more different, how you can hear it. But because of the image of the band & the ditrect lyrics we have had problems with great fanzines, which refused to review the CD. Political correctness is in Germany everyday, censorship too. But the little zine an the webzines gave very good notes to the material. DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER RELEASES OUT? Yes. I have told it yet. "HEIMKEHRER" was our first release. "KEIN MORGEN" was released as tape in Litauen. And you can find GOLD FUR EISEN on two samplers, Ukraine & Belgium. HOW DO YOU FEEL YOU HAVE IMPROVED FROM "KEIN MORGEN" TO "HEIMAT"? Yes, we have. There are more style in "HEIMAT'. The songs have better melodies. but each CD has his own character. "KEIN MORGEN" was a good bye to the future. the music is more aggressive, monotone. "HEIMAT" is a reflection of our homeland with love & hate. That's one reason, why the music is between soft moments & absolutely brutality. COULD YOU PLEASE DESCRIBE THE COVERS & MEANINGS BEHIND BOTH OF THESE RELEASES? The meanings I told already. The covers are a part of the concept of the terms. The both old people on "KEIN MORGEN" are alcoholics. they lived in a homeless house. I cannot say, wether they alive yet. They have had on this "no morning" on the next day & they have had "no morning" in meaning of the future. The front cover of "HEIMAT" shows the ideal of an homeland. The girl is the youth & the innocence of young generation & nature. the young guys demonstarte the stregnth & the power of the people. The old man is the past & the wisdom. All the things stand in harmony. The back cover shows the real situation in Germany. |
