GRAVEHILL
"DEATH CURSE"
DARK DESCENT RECORDS

GRAVEHILL is a band that embodies what and extreme Metal band should be, by
incorporating everything from Black Metal, Death Metal and Thrash Metal into their
sound. These guys are pure Metal through and through. The band originally started back in
2001 and after one release broke up the same year. They reformed in 2006 with all new
members except for original drummer and founder Rhett "Thorgrimm" Davis. "DEATH
CURSE" is the bands third full length release and a massive one at that. They take most of
their sound from the old school genre of mid to late '80's and early '90's Thrash / Death &
Black Metal scene. They have some crusty crunching guitars that have a bit of a dirty
gritty feel mixed with some raw Death Metal riffs. They also have a bit of coldness to them
at times in a old school European Black Metal feel. The drums are done in a old school
Thrash / Death Metal crossover style in the fast parts in the slightly slower parts they
have that building intensity of Black Metal sound. The vocals are done in a low ended
groggy Death Metal growl and gurgle with some throaty and harsher Black Metal growls.
At times they mix all these styles together and then others one style will dominate in a
certain part.
GRAVEHILL is one band that engulfs all that I love about these three Metal
genres. One of my favorite under rated underground bands that deserve much more
attention then they get. This is a must for fans of
VENOM, LAAZ ROCKIT,
NUNSLAUGHTER, ATOMIZER, NOMINON, IMPIETY, TOXIC HOLOCAUST,
NUCLEAR ASSAULT, SODOM
& USURPER.
