| AGENT RED (R) 2003 (DVD) PHOENICIAN ENTERTAINMENT Starring: Dolph Lundgren, Randolph Mantooth, Natalie Radford, Alexander Kuznetson & Melani Paul. Dolph Lundgren plays a Marine Special Operations commander in this film. He is facing his toughest challenge yet. He must escort the deadliest viral weapong on the planet back to a safe storage facility. The weapon is being transported abooard a U.S. submarine. Everything is going as planned until a Russian terrorist group boards & takes the crew hostage. They plan to spread the virus across major U.S. cities. Dolph & his fiance (also a U.S. Navy commander on board) take down the terrorist group one by one, until they are once again in control of the submarine. I'm a big fan of Dolph's movies & this was one of his better ones!!! |
| BLADE: TRINITY (R) 2004 (Theater) NEW LINE CINEMA Starring: Wesley Snipes, Kris Kristofferson, Dominic Purcell, Jessica Biel, Ryan Renolds & Parker Posey. This is the thrid installment in the BLADE series. In this film a group of vampires expose Blade as a menace to society, when he is set up & kills a human. The hunt is out for him, by basically everyone. The vampire group finds a secret tomb & resurrects the first original vampire to kill Blade. Once he is brought back to life he goes to hunt him down. In comes the help of a young group of vampire hunters. The group is lead by Wysler's daughter (Jessica Biel). Wisler was Blade's best friend who was killed by the government who were in search of Blade. Also leading the group is Ryan Renolds, who was once a vampire himself. They tem up with Blade even though he doesn't agree, to go after the first vampire & the other vampires in the group, led by Parker Posey. | BOOGEYMAN (PG-13) 2005 (Theater) GHOST HOUSE PICTURES / SCREEN GEM INC. Starring: Barry Watson, Emily Deschanel, Skye McCole Bartusiak, Lucy Lawless, Tory Musset. I wasn't sure what to think of this movie. It didn't look too exciting to me, but it was directed by Sam Raimi (EVIL DEAD TRILOGY, SPIDER-MAN, THE GRUDGE), one of my favorite directors. The movie is about a little boy who is affraid of things in the dark. When he see's his dad get taken by something in his closet. He is traumatized for life by this event. Once he is older he goes back to the house to spend a night & overcome his fear. All these wird things keep happening in the house, while he's there. He finally figures out how to defeat him, but there was a weird twist to it, which I won't say! It was a decent film, but Sam Raimi has done better! | CATWOMAN (PG-13) 2004 (DVD) WARNER BROS. Starring: Halle Berry, Benjamin Bratt, Lambert Wilson, Frances Conroy, Sharon Stone. I'm sure that everyone knows of the BATMAN character CATWOMAN & knows of this movie. The film stars Halle Berry who plays a struggling artist working for ahuge cosmetics company. She stumbles upon a secret meeting & over hears that the cosmetics are actually killing people if they start & then stop using it. She is then hunted down & left for dead. She does die, but is reborn as CATWOMAN. She does a slow transformation from her normal self to the sexy powerful CATWOMAN! Then she is framed for some murders she didn't commit & is out to clear her name. The movie seemed very cheesy & it was, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would. Although Halle Berry is nice to look at in the newely redesigned cat suit, her acting was terrible! This was abit better than the ELEKTRA movie though! www.CATWOMAN.com |
| CONSTANTINE (R) 2005 (Theater) WARNER BROS. Starring: Keanu Reeves, Rachel Weisz, Shia Labeouf, Djimon Hounsou, Tilda Swinton. Keanu Reeves is a powerful person on earth who has the gift? of seeing angels & demons that are here on Earth & disguised as people. When rachel Weisz's sister is placed in a mental hospital & supposedly commited suicide, she goes to Constantine for help. He helps her to be able to see the angels & demons & they try to figure out what happened to her sister. The demons & angels are not able to make humans do things, but they do what ever they can to influence them though. Keanu & Rachel discover that Satan is trying to have his son born through a human so the demons can roam the earth freely to reek havoc. The film was really good, it had a great storyline, special effects & the acting wasn't that bad either. | DARKNESS (PG-13) 2005 (Theater) DIMENSION FILMS Starring: Anna Paquin, Lena Olin, Iain Glen, Giancarlo Giannini, Fele Martinez This movie looked really scary & freaky from just seeing the trailer. There were a few parts that were creepy, but it wasn't really that scary. It's about a family who moves to Italy from the U.S. into a really old house & is designed a little odd. The young son is really scared & affraid to be in the house alone & especially in the dark. The only one who believes him is his older sister (Anna Paquin, who played Rogue in X-MEN). All these crazy things start happening in the house & with their dad. He starts talking to himself, getting very violent & starts doing strange things. After doing some research on the house & Anna finds out there were several kids that went missing in that house & that the house was designed in shape of a satanic ritual symbol, that would open up the gates of hell! | ELEKTRA (PG-13) 2005 (Theater) REGENCY ENTERPRISES / MARVEL ENTERPRISES I'm not a big fan of Jennifer Garner, but I did like the ELEKTRA comic books & used to read them everyonce in awhile, when I collected DAREDEVIL comics. This film takes you in & gives you more of the background of the charcter of ELEKTRA. After she dies in DAREDEVIL, she is brought back to life by an ancient Chinese master. She hires herself out as an assassin for hire & now wants out of the buisness. She is to do one last job & this is where everything starts to turn in the movie. The film was ok for the most part, but it wasn't what I was expecting, just from the comics. | HIDE AND SEEK (R) 2005 (Theater) 20TH CENTURY FOX Starring: Robert DeNiro, Dakota Fanning, Famke Janssen, Elisabeth Shue, Amy Irving. This movie looked kind of creepy & a bit scary from the trailer. The story takes place in New York City. Robert DeNiro & his wife are fighting a lot & going through some rough times. DeNiro finds his wife dead in a tub one night & their duaghter witnesses it. After the funeral that father & daughter move to upsate New York in a huge house in the woods. After they move all in these strange & bizarre things start happening Dikota tells her father that it's her new friend Charlie is doing all these things. As more weird things happen the father becomes very angry & thinks the daughter is doing these things. She insists it's Charlie & then the movie takes a twist. | SALO: 120 DAYS OF SODOM (R) 1976 (VHS) LES PRODUCTIONS / EXPOSURE INDEX Starring: Jennifer Huss, Paul Morris, Jenny Wallace, Amber Newman, Stacey Sparks This is one of those sexploitation type films that were very popular in the 70's. This one is about a Nazi military base who likes to do lots of torturing of the people they capture. A nazi head woman who brings young beautiful women prisoners to the base for the Nazi men. The men do very bizarre, disgusting & degrating things to the women. Most of these things are done in a sexual manner. After many women were sevearly beaten or killed, the women revolt & go nuts. They all start attacking the men & abusing them & killing them. The movie was a bit slow, maybe because of having to read the subtitles & a bit disturbing, cause I'm sure some of this stuff has really happened during the Nazi times!!! |
| SAW (R) 2004 (Theater) EVOLUTION ENTERTAINMENT / LIONS GATE FILMS Starring: Leigh Whannell, Cary Ellues, Danny Glover, Michael Emerson, Ken Leung. From the very first short preview I saw fro this movie I was very interested in seeing the film. The movie is about a serial killer who "kills" his victims with out actually killing them. He places them in situations where they must figure out a way to survive or they will die. It's actually up to them weither they survive or not. The movie starts off when two men wake up in a dark room chained to pipes on either end. They don't know where they are, how they got there or why they are there. Once they find the lights they see a body in the middle of the room with a gun in one hand & a tape recorder in the other. The body is lying a huge pool of blood from the person blowing their brains out. They both have tapes in their pockets they must play in the tape recorder. The tapes have clues to how they can escape the situation. I'm not saying anything else, except this movie was great! I loved it! It messes with your mind the whole time. If you liked the movie SEVEN, then you'll love this one. It's better, and SEVEN was a great film!!! www.SAWmovie.com |
| SIN CITY (R) 2005 (Theater) DIMENSION / TROUBLEMAKER STUDIOS Starring: Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Clive Owen, Nick Stahl, Elijah Wood & more. I was so anxious to see this film from the very first posters & trailers I saw for it. I was familiar with Frank Miller's comic book series, but never read it. I loved his art work from the comics & they portrayed it extremely well in the movie. I also loved the black & white with splashes of color here & there. This movie fucking rules! I loved it! There are three different stories being told at the same time & they inter mix with each other at times. Bruce Willis is a detective who saves a little gilr from a child molester. The child molester happens to be the son of the governer of Sin City. The second & best story is about Marv (played by Mikey Rourke). He is a huge scarred up & battered up guy who always seems to make trouble where ever he goes. When a beautiful hooker falls for him & she is then murdered he goes on a rampage to find a killer. The third story is about a man who is out to stop a gang who do nothing but cause trouble through out Sin City. He teams up with a gang of hookers who are tough a shit & run part of the city to stop the gang. These women are the toughest people in Sin City & the last people you want to cross. | THE GRUDGE (PG-13) 2004 (Theater) SONY PICTURES Starring: Sarah Machelle Gellar, Jason Behr, Clea Duvall, Kadeg Strickland, Bill Pullman, Ted Raimi. When I saw the previews for this movie, it really grabbed my attention & it pulled me in. Plus it was a remake of a Japanesse horror, which I love & it was directed by Sam raimi (EVIL DEAD TRILOGY, SPIDER-MAN 1 & 2) one of my favorite directors. The movie is about a house in Japan that all these strange things keep happening in & everyone who enters the house is eventually killed off. A family purchases the house three years after something major happened in the house. There are some bizarre, deformed & half dead humans who cause all these things to happen. The story was pretty good & done really well. The crazy special effects & make up effects were really good too. This wasn't one of my favorite Sam Raimi films, but it's still a great raimi flick. I'm a big fan of DISNEY movies, especiallythe PIXAR ones. I'm also a huge fan of super heros, so this movie was one I was really looking forward to. The film is about super heros, who have to go into a witness relocation type program & are not allowed to us their super powers. After fifteen years of no super heros, the super villians decide to cause trouble, lead by Syndrome. This draws the super heros out of hiding & they start to do battle. The animation was amazing as usual with DISNEY/PIXAR collaberations. There were a bunch of good jokes & laughs mixed into a good story. Everyone should see this great film! www.THEINCREDIBLES.com |
| THE RING TWO (PG-13) 2005 (Theater) DREAMWORKS Starring: Naomi Watts, Simon Baker, David Dorfman, Elizabeth Perkins, Gary Cole, Sissy Spacek, Kelly Stables. I was really looking forward to this sequel because I loved the first film as well as the original Japanese version & the previews looked really good. In this second part the movie starts out about the tape again, where if you watch it you get a phone call saying you will die in seven days. Once they get done dealing with that for about ten minutes the rest of the film focuses on Rachel & Aidan from the first film.They soon become haunted by Simara again. This time Simara wants to live again & she is coming for Aidan, Rachel's son. She does what she can to haunt him till she takes over his body & becomes alive again. There were a few weird parts, but for the most part the film wasn't scary at all. There were some good special effects at times, but I was kind of let down. | VAMPS: DEADLY DREAMGIRLS (R) 1995 The dreamgirls in this flick are definately deadly, because they are all vampires. When a young gilr who wants some excitement in her boring life tries to get a job in a strip club. She does a good enough audition to get the position. Once she starts working there she slowly finds out they are all vampires. Two of her friends, one being a priest, try to get her to quit & destroy the deadly vamps. The movie was very slow, dry & done very cheesy. The best part of this flick was that there were a decent number of good looking women who got naked a lot. Not for vampire fans, but more for fans of soft core adult films!!! |
| WHITE NOISE (PG-13) 2005 (Theater) GOLD CIRCLE FILMS Starring: Michael Keaton, Chandra West, Deborah Kara Unger, Ian McNiece, Sarah Strange. White Noise is what is actually known as E.V.P. (Electronic Voice Phenominom). This film is based on true events. Michael Keaton is a contractor who's wife is a writer. A few weeks before her book is released she disappears in a mysterious death. Once her body was found & the funeral is over he is contacted by a man who has been recieving messages from his wife on the other side.She starts contacting him & giving him messages. She tries to tell him about women who will be killed soon. He doesn't know this at first until one of the women contacts him after she is murdered. Then he pieces together some of her messages & is able to save a babies life, right before it is to be killed. Who ever is doing this from the other side starts to come for Michael keaton. The movie is a little slow in the beginning, but quickly kicks in & gets a bit freaky. If you believe in E.V.P. then you'll enjoy this film a lot. I did!!! www.WHITENOISEmovie.com |
