| 16 BLOCKS (R) WARNER BROS (DVD) 2006 Starring: Bruce Willis, Mos Def, David Morse, Jenna Stern, Casey Sander & more. Bruce Willis is an aging police officer who is put on a case to transfer a prisoner to the court house, which is 16 BLOCKS, to testify as a witness in a case. Willis is not to thrilled to do this job, cause he feels the prisoner is a low life criminal & always will be. Along the way there are people who are out to stop them & kill the witness. The criminals turn out to be the crooked cops. The story takes a little twist all through out the whole film & turned out different than I was expecting. The film didn't do too well in the theaters, but it was actually a pretty decent film all together. | AIR FORCE ONE (R) WARNER BROS (SHOWTIME) 1997 Starring: Harrison Ford, Gary Oldman, Glenn Close, Wendy Crewson, Liesel Matthews & more. Harrison Ford plays the president of the United States, who is changing the way the country will be run. He is a take no shit president, but is soon tested by some terrorist who get aboard Air Force One. The kill many of the secret service members & some other people who work for the government. The rest of the people they take hostage include the presidents wife & daughter. The president who they think got in an escape pod starts to fight back & goes full on after the terrorist. This movie is a little old, but was quite good for it's time. Gary Oldman of course played a great crazy terrorist leader. Is there any role that he hasn't done great? Check it out just for Oldman's parts, but the movie is good all through out!!! |
| BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS (R) 20TH CENTURY FOX (DVD) 1970 Starring: Dolly Read, Cynthia Myers, Marcia McBroom, John Lazar, Michael Blodgett & more. This is my first time seeing a Russ Myer film. It was everything i expected it to be. This is a remake of the original & not a sequal. The story follows 3 female rockers as they travel to California to try to make it in the big time. They wind up getting caught in the crazy life style of sex, drugs, & rock n roll. They meet lots of strange & interesting people & party a lot. There is a lot of sex & nudity through out the film as well as sume murder & mystery. | BLACK BALL (R) MIDFIELD FILMS (DVD) 2003 Starring: Paul Kaye, James Cromwell, Vince Vaughn, Alice Evans, Johnny Vegas & more. Kaye is a young kid from the slums of England who is great at the sport of bowls. He is probably the best player England has, but he can't get in the league, because of where he comes from. They decide to let him in because he is drawing a younger crowd & more money to the sport. He is an outlaw to this mostly older gentlemens sport. He becomes really famous & gets really out of control & loses everything, but finds a way to set things straight. The movie reminded me a lot like HAPPY GILMORE, where he trys to jazz up golf, but in this case it's the sport of bowls. This was a decent flick, not as funny as I was expecting, but still good none the less. HAPPY GILMORE is way better a movie though!!! |
| FREEDOM LAND (R) SONY PICTURES (DVD) 2006 Starring: Samuel Jackson, Julianne Moore, Edie Falco, Ron Eldard, William Forsythe & more. Julianne Moore is an ex drug addict who works with children in the projects. One here way home from work one night her car is hijacked & her son was still in the back seat asleep. She goes to the police to get a search going. They lock down the projects which causes lots of tension with it's residents. Lost of racial stuff erupts between the police & the residents. Things start to get really twisted with the search & Moore's story about what happened. There is a twist in the end, that you maybe able to figure out as the story starts to close. In this, the third installment in the HARRY POTTER series Harry must help capture the prisoner of Azkaban. This prisoner is after something that could give him lots of power & travel through time. If he gets a hold of it, he can have control over the school & it's teachers & students. Lots of mischief happens all through out the film & they find out that the prisoner is not the bad guy he is made out to be & hasn't caused all the things thta happened that were suspected of him. This is an animated film based on the story of little red riding hood. The movie starts out following the original story of Red Riding Hood, until she gets to Grandma's house. After Grandma is found tied up in the closet, the big bad wolf in here bed & then a lumber jack crashes through the window. After this the police show up & start to interigate all four of the characters involved. They all give their interpretations of what happened up to this point. This film follows a young guy who is spiralling out of control with drugs, alcohol & more. He hears that his ex-girlfriend is moving out of New York with her new boyfriend. He meets his drug dealer at a local bar where his friend is a bartender who tells him there is a going away party for her that night. He takes the drug dealer with him to the party & stays in the bathroom all night doing drugs, drink & talking with everyone who comes in about his relationship with London. Two really big loser guys try to get by in life by stealing, & pulling scams to get money & make it in life. They actually try to mug two nuns & get busted & thrown in jail. They find two old ladies they try to make fall in love with them, so once they die they can get their money from their wills. They go through some crazy sceniros & wind up hating them both. The acting was pretty bad & the story was very lame. It's not the worst movie out there, but it definately wasn't the best either. Watch at your own risk, there are a few hot naked chicks, but that's the only thing that was decent about the film. |

On one job Mel Gibson's partner double crosses him & goes off with his with, after she shoots him the back & leaves him for dead. After he heals & is back in shape he goes after his wife & ex partner. His wife is a drug addict & he ex partner is now in with a crime group. He goes after him anyway & then has many other people after him. The film wasn't his best film, but it still had a good story & a lot of action in it. There is a younger Lucy Lui in here in a bondage outfit too. If your a fan of Mel Gibson films, then you'll dig this film a lot!!! |
| PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST (PG-13) DISNEY (Theater) 2006 Starring: Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley, Jack Davenport, Bill Nighy & more. This is the second installment of this movie series. In this film Captain Jack Sparrow is after the dead men's chest which holds the heart of Davey Jones locker & lots of power. Davey Jones has his Dead Men sea crew who go after Jack Sparrow. Along the ride are the original crew who try to help Jack. There is a ton of new surprises & lots more humor in this film than the first film. The special effects in this one out shine the first one a lot too. There are a few side stories that take place during the main story, but all seem to melt together in the end & they set the film up for the third one nicely. Most people probably wont like this as much, but it's just as good as the first film, in my mind. | SIX STRING SAMURAI (PG-13) PALM PICTURES (DVD) 1998 Starring: Jeffrey Falcon, Justin McGuire, Kim De Angelo, Stephane Gauger, Clifford Hugo & more. This is an independent film that was kind of interesting. It's about a the Russians bombing the planet in 1959 & taking control of the world. The only city still standing is Lost Vegas & their king "Elvis" was just killed. Now anyone can go to the city to become king. The lead character is a Buddy Holly look alike, who is traveling the road to Lost Vegas to become king. Along the way he runs into many interesting characters & saves a little boy, who tags along on his journey. The film reminded me of THE WIZARD OF OZ meets THE ROAD WARRIOR, with lots of Rockabilly & Samurai stuff tossed in the mix. This was a pretty decent film with a cool kind of twist & mix of styles. This is well worth checking out.!!! |

A mother & father have seperated & their duaghetr, who lives with the mother is becoming distant. She lives with the mother & blames her for everything that has happened & treats the mother like crap. They go to visit the father & things start going strange. The duaghetr discovers some stuff in the attic of her fathers new home that he is redesigning. Strange things happen & the daughter kills herself in the ocean near the home. The mother starts seeing a little girl who knows the daughetr, but acts very strange. There is a twist in the end that some what pulls everything together, but leaves some stuff open. Tommy Lee owns a cattle ranch in New Mexico & has lots of help on the ranch. One of the workers is a Mexican who came across the border looking for work. There are some very racist border police who really beat the people coming over the border. One cop accidentally shoots the Mexican & tries to hide it. Tommy Lee finds out about it & wants to take the body to his home. He also takes the cop with hime to make him show respect & along the way tortures him & puts him through hell all along the way. A man wakes up & finds himself going through some crazy & tramatic experiences. He was in a car accident with his wife & can't cope with the fact that she died. He keeps seeing these crazy things & dealing with different visions & stuff. He meets some people who try to help him through the process , but he keeps getting a little weird. The film has some slow parts, but then kicks back in a little after it all the time. There is a little twist in the end that kinds of pulls everything together. This is the sequal to the cult classic film CLERKS which came out in 1994. In this film, the Quick Stop & RST Video where Dante & Randall worked was burnt down, so they must go get new jobs. They both work at a Mooby's fast food place, which is like a blend of McDonald & Disney World. They do the usual stuff of treating the customers like shit & all the other employee's as well. Jay & Silent Bob hang out in front of the place as usual too. This film is very funny & done in great Kevin Smith form, If you liked his other movies then you will surely enjoy this film as well. I loved all the different stuff that goes down, but nothing will ever be as great as the first one. Great for fans of VIEW ASKEW releases. As each new gust arrives GWAR beats the shit out of them & spills blood & guts every where & on everyone. This was a great GWAR video, but it still won't top the great PHAULLUS IN WONDERLAND. She must return home, but can not because of some strange creatures that lurk in the woods around the building. She is looking for certain people to help & this happens to be the people in the apartments, the mystery is which ones? I heard this movie was bad, but didn't expect it to be this bad. The movie based on the comic book of the same name. VAMPIRELLA comes to earth from her home planet of Drakulon to avenger her fathers death & kill Vladimer Dracula. He killed her father & fled to earth to hide. He takes many forms over the years & this time has chosen a very cheesy rock start disguise named Johhny Blood, played by Roger Daltry. This movie was very bad, from the script, acting, costumes, special effects & so on. I love cheesy B-movies, but this one was trying too hard to be a great multi million blockbuster & has failed horribly. Everything bad I heard about this film was true. Taliso, who plays Vampirella, was the best thing about this film & that is only cause she looked like the character in the comic book!!! |
