HOBBS END (R) AVIRO FILM WORKS (DVD) 2000 Starring: Catrina Conti, Brennan Elliot, Stacey Hunter & jerry Fitzpatrick. This film was about a very small town called Hobbs End, which is about to become even smaller. Lacey Cole is a beautiful young widow who is living in an isolated cabin in the forest. She becomes forced to fight for survival when she lets a stranger into her life. The starnger pretends to be a handy man that she was looking to hire & help out around the cabin. Well, the stranger turns out to be a demented serial killer on the loose with multiple personalities. he tries to take the place of lacey's dead husband, but she won't let him. She battles him to a bloody death. This truely was survival of the best, where the killer becomes the killed!!! The film was pretty decent, but I thought it was going to be a little more violent than it was & even a little more bloodier. It did pick up a lot towards the end! The special features on the DVd include interactive menus, scene selection & wide screen presentation!!!
HOW TO MAKE A MONSTER (R) CREATURE FEATURES / SONY PICTURES (DVD) 2001 Starring: Steven Culp, Clea Duvall, Tyler Maine & Julie Strain. What started out as a simple game...became a virtual nightmare. A video game developing company enlists the talents of a misfit group of programmers to develop the scariest computer combat game called Evilution! With limited time to develop the game they utilize a telemetry suit to render a 3-d version of the on screen player. A storm hits town & a power surge gives the hard drive a mind of it's own. It brings the suit to life & starts killing off it's creators. The people who are still alive must continue to play the game to beat the monster before they are killed as well. The film is a remake inspired by the Arkoff classic horror film from the 50's. The creature effects were done by Stan Winston (Jurrasic park, Terminator 2, Aliens). The movie was pretty cool & a great concept, some of the acting was cheesy, but it was still a decent flick. - www.SONYPICTURES.com
ICE CREAM MAN (R) Starring: Clint Howard, Justin Isfeld, Anndi Mcafee, JoJo Adams, Mickey Lebean & more. This movie was about a deranged mental patient who becomes an ice cream man. When strange things start happening in a small town, the ice cream man becomes the prime suspect. He's accussed of kidnapping & killing the children in town that have gone missing, but what they don't know is that he has killed their parents & some other adults. He doesn't want to harm the children, he just wants to make them happy. It is the children who eventually kill him though! The movie was ok, a little slow in most places & it could of used more blood. I really liked Clint Howard as the deranged ice cream man though!!! I, ZOMBIE (R) FANGORIA / BEDFORD ENTERTAINMENT (VHS) 1999 Starring: Gile Aspen, Ellen Softley & Dean Sipling. His soul was the last to go! This film is about a young investagative writer who goes out on an assignment in some deserted ruins. As he is searching through the ruins he comes across a women who looks badly injured. He carries her from the building & then she bites him on the neck. Slowly his mind & body start to decay as he slowly becomes a zombie. Only the taste of blood will keep him amongst the living dead. As his hunger becomes stronger he becomes a killer. There was a very slow moving story line with no real special effects. The make up for some of the zombies was pretty cool though!!!
JULIE STRAIN'S BAD GIRLS (R) SIMITAR ENTERTAINMENT (DVD) 1996 This DVD is hosted by the hot Penthouse Pet & B-Movie Queen Julie Strain. She is here to reveal herself & some of her friends for all your enjoyment. You get to watch a bunch of her friends show & tell you their most intimate stories of love, lust & sex!!! This was an ok DVD to watch maybe once or twice, but it gets kind of boring after that. If you mute the sound & skip over some of the chicks & go to the hotter ones you will enjoy it more. Some of the women were pretty hot & had some hot outfits, that quickly come off. As the DVD goes on Julie Strain more & more reveals herself as well. The DVD is ok, but is still worth it for just seeing Julie Strain herself!!! - www.SIMITAR.com

These guys play some really dark demented Death Metal music with influences of traditional Metal, Black Metal, Industrial & more all tossed into the mix. Their stage show consists of lots of twisted, torturous, mutilation all done in good old bloody fun!!! These guys would be if you crossed MARYLIN MANSON with CRADLE OF FILTH & mixed in THE GENITORTURERS.. That's a good thing, people!!! This is one stage show that needs to be seen to be believed!!! It's a sight you will never forget!!! - P.O. BOX 891732 / TEMECULA, CA. 92589-1732 |
REFORM SCHOOL GIRLS (R) NEW WORLD PICTURES (VHS) Starring: Wendy O Williams, pat Ast, Linda Carol, Sybil Danning, Sherri Stoner & lots more. I'm sure if your reading this you've already heard or seen this great flick. The movie is about a bunch of troubled girls who are placed in a reform school to set themselves staright. The movie stars Wendy O Williams of THE PLASMATICS as Charlie, the leader of a bunch of hard ass women who run the show on the inside. If you cross her path, you're headed for a world of shit! The place is filled with tons of women in skimpy cloths, or none at all. The women do a lot of fighting with each other & really beat the shit out of each other. they do plan an escape from the place & cause quit a lot of chaos. This is a great 70's styled female prison movie. Wendy O may not be the most attractive looking female, but she does have a smoking body!!!
RETRO PUPPET MASTER (PG-13) FULLMOON / KOCH VISION (DVD) Starring: Greg Sestro, Brigitta Dau, Jack Donner, Stephen Blackheart & Guy Rolfe. i believe this is the newest film in the Puppet master series of films put out by FULL MOON. this movie takes us back To the days before Andre Toulon was the Puppet master. he spent his days running an avantgarde puppet theatre in a pre world war 1 Paris. he also was in love with the daughter of a Swiss ambassador. He witnesses the murder of an Egyptian sorcerer who stole the "Secret Of Life" from the ancient god Sutekh. Once the servents of Sutekh kill off all of Andre's friends he puts their souls in the puppets to bring them to life & seek out revenge. This was a definate twist on the Puppet master series & took a whole new direction. I dug some of the new puppets added & liked the look of some of the old ones as well. This movie was ok, but very boring compared to some of the others. There are behind the scenes features, trailers & more also on this DVD. - 8721 SANTA MONICA BLVD / SUITE 526 / WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA. 90069 / www.FULLMOONPICTURES.com
WICKED CITY, THE (R) GOLDEN PRINCESS FILM PRODUCTION LIMITED (VHS) Starring: Leon Lai, Jacky Cheung, Michelle Reis, tatsiya Kakadai & more. This film is a Japanese sci-fi action flick & a weird one at that. The movie is about a group of humans that hunt down these human-reptile cross breeds called Reptoids. The Reptoids are trying to take over the world & these military like guys are the Anti-reptoid Squad who hunt them down. What they all don't realize is that there are some Super Reptoids going to kill them all. There were some pretty cool special effects & stuff. I really liked how it was kind of bizarre & twisted like most of the japanese films in this genre I have seen!!!
TROMA'S DRACULA VS. FRANKENSTEIN (PG) TROMA / INDEPENDENT INTERNATIONAL (DVD) Starring: J. Carrol Naish, Lon Chaney, Anthony Eisley, Regina Carrol, Angelo Rossitto & more. Well, here's my TROMA movie for this group of movie reviews. This one is part of the Al Adamson Cult Classic series that TROMA has rereleased. This movie pits the two kings of horror together in a battle to the death! The movie has the two horror monsters fighting each other in a few different situations through out the movie. It was kind of a slower moving movie & not as good as the rest of Al Adamsons movies, but it was still a decent classic monster movie! The special features on the DVD include audio commentary by Sam Sherman, producing schlock documenatry, alternate ending, unreleased footage, Location footage, trailers, TV spots, behind the scenes photos & lots more! - www.TROMA.com / www.TROMAville.com
