| A TALE OF TWO SISTERS (R) TARTAN FILMS (DVD) 2003 Starring: Kap-Su Kim, Jung-Ah Yum, Su-Jeong Lim, Geun-Yeong Mun, Seung-Bi Lee & more. This is a Koren film about two sisters who are twins & are very close. They live with their father & step mother in an old house by the lake. The step mother is always abusing the daughters & treating them horribly. The father pays no attention to it & the girls must fend for themselves. Strange things start happening in the house & people start hearing & seeing weird things. As the story unfolds the major twist comes into play & they piece everything together & you see that not everyone was going crazy, but a certain someone is. I only wanted to see this movie because I knew Jay & Silent Bob were in it. They are but not as those characters. Mewes plays a bartender @ his dad's bar, which is about to be closed down unless he can come up with enough money. Mewes decides to go to California to enter a major bartenders contest. While out there he lives with his gay uncle who works for a mjor TV studio. He takes him to parties & stuff where he meets Paris Hilton, who is the girrlfriend of a movie star. He black mailes her to get an exclusive interview with her boyfriend for his uncles show. They evetually fall in love & everthing ends in a perfect Hollywood ending. Sandler is a father, husabdn & works a lot at his job for designing buildings. He feels his life is becoming to hectic & so much to do. He goes out for a drive & finds a Bed Bath & Beyond store. He hits the Beyond section & runs into Walken. He gives him a remote control for his life. It lets him pause, fast forward, rewind, basically everything but for his life. Once the remote establishes what your functions are it works by itself, so he winds up missing a huge part of his life & regrets it in the end as he is dying. This film is about a group of college kids who go to an old abandoned house that has a creepy story attached to it. The story is about anyone who lives there winds up going insane & slaughtering their family. The last guy ended up killing his parents & supposely his spirit still resided in the house. The one student is doing his thesis on this story & wants to document the whole experience. Of course the kids wind up messing with the house & the house possess them back 7 starts making them kill each other. The film was a little slow & the acting was kind of cheesy too. It's worth one viewing, but that's about it. Check it out if you want. |

All her clown paintings are dark & evil looking. When a rich man offers her a lot of money to paint a portrait of his father as a clown, some psycho starts attacking & killing people she knows dressed as a clown from her paintings. The story was ok, but it was done kind of lame. It wasn't that scary & the acting was pretty bad. This could be done better, but it was still a decent viewing despite all the bad stuff. Johnny Knoxville is a roadie for Garm Parsons. Once he passes away Knoxville must get the body & give his best friend his last wish. He gets a hippy guy who has a hearse to come along with him to the airport to steal the body. He wants to take the body to the desert & burn it, which was where Parsons loved to be & it was his dying wish. Along the way Parsons father, the police & Knoxvilles ex girlfriend are all chasing them. There was a good story, with god acting & there was a lot of funny parts as well. This sequel is a little different than the first film. A crazy college professor is trying experiments in the school basement. He is trying to bring the dead back to life. When the experiment goes wrong & the dead come back & attack the living. Soon they spread acroos the whole school campus & start attacking & eating everyone. A special task unit is sent in to wipe out all the infected. Half the crew gets infected themselves & must be destroyed as well. There was a better story this time around, with better effects & better acting. The film remined me of a mix between 28 DAYS LATER & RESIDENT EVIL. This is the 3rd installment in this movie series. This one has a new twist two it & a whole new cast. A bunch of kids decide to play a prank at the town fair, when something goes wrong. They decide to dress up like the Fisherman from the first films & a friend of theirs gets killed. They try to hide it & never talk about it again, when someone starts leaving them notes about that night. They start getting attacked by someone dressed like the Fisherman themselves. They keep getting picked off 1 by 1. The story was a little slow at times, but it was still a good view. This one can kind of stand on it's own, where you don't need to see the others! |

A young lady is killed & then finds out that her father is the devil himself. He has killed her mother & has taken her boyfirend prisoner. She goes down to hell & trys to find some people to join her army to over throw the devil & take charge of hell herself. The animation was really good & had a japanimation feel & look to it. The voice actin was a bit stale at times, but over all it was decent. I liked this film a lot & it makes me want to buy the comic book now. Hartnett goes to visit a friend of his & finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. He gets beat up buy some goons & taken to see a mob boss. They think he is someone he is not. Once he returns to his friends place he is attacked by some other goons & taking to see a different rival mob boss. He is asked to do a job & pay them some money. He tries to explain who he is, but no one listens. The story keeps hitting you with new different twists that keeps throwing him deeper in trouble. He helps take care of the other children & does all the cooking. He goes out into town to pick up food for the monistary & while there he attends a wrestling match. He gets so inthralled by it that he wanted to be come a wrestler. If he becomes the champ he can make lots of money & give it to the orphanage & the children. He also is trying to impress the new nun at the monistary. There are a few parts that are funny, but it was kind of dumb for the most part. Jack Black was funny, but the rest of the film was boring. Jigsaw kidnaps a nurse this time to help keep him alive, while his protege has put another victim in a new situation & must find his way to escape. This new victim must go through a series of test with people who had some hand in his sons death. One was a witness to the accident, one is the judge of the trial & one is the driver of the car who ran his son down. There is once again a huge twist at the end of this film that pulls everything together & really screws with your head. This film actually made me unsettled a few times, which I was really surprised, because no film has done that to me before. They really pulled out everything for this film & did a great job. I loved every minute of it. If you dig the other two films then this one you will really love. | SEVERED (R) FOREST OF THE DEAD PRODUCTIONS (DVD) 2005 Starring: Leanne Adachi, JR Bourne, Sage Brocklebank, Paul Campbell, Julian Christopher & more. On a small island of woods there are some scientist that are doing experiments on the trees. There are some logging companies there trying to cut the trees down, plus activist trying to stop both of them from doing anything to the trees. Something from the experiments gets in one of the loggers mouths, makes him violently ill & eventually turns him into a zombie. He attacks the other people on the island & shortly everyone becomes a zombie themselves. A few of the people have survived & do what ever they can to make it out alive. This is a low budget film, but it was done quite well even though some of the acting & dialogue were a bit cheesy. Zombie fans could find something they would like about this one! |

This movie is about a bunch of video game lovers who have online video game parties. When a friend of thiers who develops video games dies tragicly, they get a demo of his new game he is working on. The game is based on the legend of Elizabeth Bathory, who used to kill young women 7 bath in their blood to keep her youth. You must speak an incantation aloud to enter the game. Once you do it invokes the spirit of Elizabeth. You must stay alive, for if you die in the game you will die the same way in real life. The friends keep getting picked off & the few alive must complete their mission or die also. The movie looked a lot scarier than it actually was, but it is a good film, could of had a bit more gore though! A bunch of jocks in a high school continuosly pick on the geeky out cast girl. What they don't know is that she is into witchcraft & is pulling her own prank on them. They pull a major prank on her & they get in struggle with her & she falls & smashes her head on a table. Thinking she's dead they bury her out in the middle of the woods. She returns to class the next day, but is a hot sexy temptress & starts making everyone pay attention to her. She gets her revenge on the people in ways that would embarrass them, just the way they did to her. This was a pretty decent film, done by the guy who did FINAL DESTINATION. This film is like a prequel/remake. The film takes you back to before Thomas a.k.a. Leatherface is born. It shows you his mother & what she did to him as a child. He is a deformed child & wears bandages on his face. He worked in the slaughter house near their home. Once the slaughter house closes down he snaps & kills the owner. This is the start of his killing spree. The "cop", which is his uncle pushes him further to do the killings & they do this to anyone they can get passing through the town. Some stuff was similar to the original, but there was a lot added to it as well. This film was really gory & sick at times. I believe Tobe Hooper, who did the original had a hand in this one as well. Him & his friend decied to steal money from the bank & do it on Christmas Eve. He gets away with the money, but then they must get out of town. With all the ice on the streets the town has been shut down so nobody can go anywhere. He runs into a lot of people through out the night who try to cross him &steal the money as well as kill him. There are a lot of twists in this film that really keeps you on your toes. The film is a dark comedy, with some gangster type things mixed in. Oliver Platt was funny as usual & Cussack did a great job to. This film didn't do so well in the theaters, but this is one of Cussack & Billy Bob's better flicks. This is just about exactly the same as THE RING movie or the original Japanese version RINGU. A women finds a mysterious tape & watches it. on the tape there is all this bizarre & creepy stuff happen. Once she views it, she gets a phone call telling her she will die in 7 days. Anyone else who views this will get the same treatment. She tries to figure out the meaning behind the tape & in the process save her own life. This film was pretty creepy looking. It was a bit slower than the U.S. remake, but it was much darker & freaky looking. If you don't mind reading subtitles, you should check this out & see where the story originally cam from. Japanese do it better!!! |

One girl disappears & they tell her about the legend of the house. How three young witches used to go there & were always picked. They invoked the help of the woods to take care of these people. Now these women & the woods have control of the school. This is why everyone is affraid & does what they are told. The ones who don't go missing! They decide to go to a hardcore straight edge show together with some friends. When they get there trouble brews & the two races start fighting as Rap against Hardcore, white against black gang against gang wars start. This bleeds out into the streets & everyone is fighting for their lives to survive the night. There are soem really sad & disturbing parts in the film, because the fact is that this stuff happens all the time i real life. A teenage boy has a problem with his teeth, because he still sucks his thumb. His parents send him to the dentist (Reeves), to fix this problem, where he also gets counseling. The boy meets a girl & falls in love with her & eventually stops sucking his thumb. His parents start fallen apart, his school friends stop hanging out with him & he doesn't want to be around anyone. He evetually starts sucking his thumb again. He sees there is nothing wrong with this. He feels safer & more confidant when he's doing this. The film was a little off center & had some dark views on things, but was actaully really quite good & interesting. This is not your typical Hollywood type film. This is a documentary film covering the 2001 X Games that happened in Philadelphia, Pa. The movie documents & covers street luge, skateboarding, motorcross, inline skates, bmx & more. There are interviews with a lot of the top athletes that competed in these events too. I wish there was more coverage shown from the events because I unfortunatelly wasn't able to make it out to this when it was here. It's a Japanese or Korean horror film about a website about an institute for women. When you view this website you become pregnant. There are women all over viewing this site 7 getting pregnant, but there is someone out there after them. This someone is killing all the women & ripping out their fetuses. The film was slow at times & quite strange. I don't know if there is something being lost through the translation or what, but there seemed to be some holes in the plot that left things unexplained. It's strange enough for a viewing, but it makes for a confusing viewing? Give it a try & maybe you can pull something more out of it! |

This film follows a young female that finds out she is linked to the head female vampire. She sets out to a strip club that she knows vampires hang out at & starts her mission. She wants to kill the head vampire so she can revert back to a human. Along the way she encounters many battles with other female stripper vampires. The acting was quite poor as well as the story line. There were no real special effects or anything either. the only reason to watch this film would be to see a few naked women here & there. This is a cult classic film from the early 70's I've never seen it until now. A young woman goes to a night club in a foreign country & watches the erotic lesbian show on stage. She has an attraction to the one woman who she has seen before in her dreams. She later gets a job doing a report in some secluded resort. once she arrives there she encounters the woman from the stage show. they have an immediate attraction to each other & she comes to find out the hard way she is a vampire. They get intangled in an erotic life together until things go bad. I could see how this could be considered a cult classic, because it was pretty on edge for 1971, but for todays standards it's kind of tame. Check it out just to see what the hype was for the film! |
