40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN, THE (R) UNIVERSAL PICTURES (Theater) 2005
Starring: Steve Carell, Catherine Keener, Paul Rudd, Romany Malco, Seth Rogen, Elizabeth Banks & more.
I knew I was going to love this movie, which stars Steve Carrell. He came close to stealing the spot light from Jim Carey in
BRUCE ALMIGHTY & even closer with Will Farrell in ANCHORMAN. Now he stars in this flick about a guy who works in an electronics store & collects action figures & toys. One playing poker with his co workers they discover he is a 40 year old virgin. The whole rest of the movie his buddies torcher him with what he should do to score with the ladies. He is in love with one lady he meets, but they keep hooking him up with other chics. This film is funny as hell, a bit graphic & dirty, but funny as hell. Steve Carrell is one of the funniest actors out there. If you don't believe me, check out this film & the other two as well!!!

BROTHERS GRIMM, THE (PG-13) MIRAMAX / DEMENSION FILMS (Theater) 2005
Starring: Matt Damon, Heath ledger, Lena Headey, Monica Bellucci, Peter Stormare & more.
I was quite anxious to check out this movie. I'm a big fan of their stories, because they are dark & twisted, unlike most of the Disney versions. The movie starts out with the brothers listening to people of a small town talking of a witch that is haunting the village. They take lots of notes & inform them of what they will do & how much it will cost them. After they defeat the witch it is revealed that it's a set up by them & their friends. They continue to move from town to town doing this with each new folklore they discover, until they find themselves in the middle of a real fairy tale. There is a lot of cool special effects & a great story that mixes little bits of all their stories into one. There is some really good action & comedy parts as well. This is a good flick, especially for fans who know their stories!!!

CANNIBAL FEROX (R) DANIA FILM / AQUARIUS RELEASING INC (VHS) 1981
Starring: Giovanni Lombardo Radice, Lorraine De Selle, Danilo Mattei, Zora Keroua, Walter Lucchin & more.
This film is a cult classic film in the horror underground scene originally called
MAKE THEM DIE SLOWLY. The film starts in New York City with a group of anthropology students who go to some remote amazon jungle to prove the theory that cannibalism exists. When they discover a tribe they soon find out they are being used as slaves for some drug dealers. The students try to get them to stop, but they refuse. The leader actually kills one of the female tribes people to prove he can do what he wants. The tribes have come to the end of what they can handle & they revolt & attack the drug dealers & the college students. Each person is killed in very horrible slow & brutal ways. Each one suffers a worst death than the last. This movie is so disturbing & disgusting it makes it such a great cannibalism movie. No one with a weak stomach should even attempt to watch this film!!!
CHEERLEADER MASSACRE (R) CALIFILM / JUNIPER POST INC. (VHS) 2003
Starring: Tamie Sheffield, Charity Rahmer, Erin Byron, Lenny Juliano, Bill Langlois Monroe & more.
I thought this might be a some what decent horror movie, but I was wrong. This film starts off with this group of friends at a college, where some of the girls are cheerleaders. they are just finishing up practice & getting ready to go on a trip to some cabin in the woods. They arrive at the cabin & everything seems to be fine. They all start unwinding & having a good time drinking & hanging out. Once they begin to split off with each other, bad things happen. The friends start getting killed off & no one knows who's doing it. Every time you think you know who it is, they get killed. There was a lot of poor acting & the story was very bad too. If they didn't show the first scene you couldn't even have the title of the film. There was no gore & very little blood. The only thing that ws good was a few nude scenes & they weren't even that good!!!
CUT AND RUN (R) RACING PICTURES (VHS) 1985
Starring: Lisa Blount, Leonard Mann, Willie Aames, Richard Lynch, Richard Bright & more.
This is a film from 1985 about a camera man & reporter who head into the jungle to search for a missing son of a TV producer, looking for a big story. Once they arrive in the jungle they discover many other things. They run into cannibalism & a major drug war which threatens to take their own lives. They fight & struggle to cover this story, but stay alive in the process. The movie is a bit slow o start off with & once they discover the drug war the action picks up a bit. This is an ok film that's ok for one viewing!!!
DEVILS REJECTS, THE (R) LIONS GATE FILMS (Theater) 2005
Starring: Sid Haig, Bill Moseley, Sheri Moon, William Forsythe, Ken Foree & more.
This is the second Rob Zombie film. The film is not a sequal to
HOUSE OF A THOUSAND CORPSES, but a continuation of that film. The film starts out with the police storming an old run down farm house. The people inside are the maniacs who did all the killing in the first film. They start firing back at the police as they ambush the house. Some are killed & two escape. They capture the mother & lock her up for questioning. The two who escape go to a motel to wait for their father to meet up with them. They kidnap a music band who was staying there. They slaughter everyone & then some. Once the father arrives they go on the run from the police & a killing spree along the way. The film was very good, but there were a few parts that were slow moving, but it was a pretty good 70's style horror/violent flick!!!

EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE, THE (PG-13) LAKESHORE ENT. / SCREEM GEMS (Theater) 2005
Starring: Laura Linney, Tom Wilkinson, Campbell Scott, Jennifer Carpenter, Colm Feore & more.
I was a little iffy about this film, not knowing if it would be a good flick or not. This film is based on real events that happened to Anneliese Michel, a young german woman in the 70's. The film starts off in a small farm house witht he family of the possessed girl. There is a police officer, a doctor & a priest also present in the house. The doctor declairs Emily Rose dead & the police officer arrests the priest. The priest is held up in jail & is set to go to trial for the death of Emily Rose. As the court case unfolds we hear & see what happened to Emily & things that went on during her possession. This wasn't really a horror movie, but more of a suspense thriller. This film was pretty decent & worth watching!!!

FEAR (R) MCA / UNIVERSAL PICTURES (VHS) 1996
Starring: Mark Wahlberg, Reese Witherspoon, William L. Peterson, Amy Brenneman, Alysssa Milano & more.
Reese Witherspoon plays Nicole who is a 16 year old girl. She & her friend Margo (Alyssia Milano) go out to a party when they meet David (Mark Wahlberg). Nicole & David start dating & getting really close. David gets possessive with her & doesn't want anyone near her including her family & friends. She then breaks off the relationship & he becomes very violent. He & his friends start doing things to terrorize her & her family. He violently & sexually attacks Margo (her friend), kills one of her guy friends & traps her family in their own home. The movie is actually really good & has some really decent intense drama & action. Check this out & see a young Reese, Alyssia & Mark. Good flick!!!
MANIAC (R) MAGNUM MOTION PICTURES, INC. (VHS) 1980
Starring: Joe Spinell, Caroline Munro, Gail Lawrence, Kelly Piper, Rita Montone, Tom Savini & more.
This film is about Frank, who's mother was killed in a car accident years before. He misses his mother very much even though she was very abusive to him. His mother used to sell her body for money, which he didn't like. He goes on a killing spree of young women, seeing each of these women as his mother. He kills them & then scalps them all. He places the scalps on mannequins he has displayed around his apartment. The film is decent for an 80's slasher film, but kind of slow for todays time. The acting was a bit cheesy, but is worth watching for some of the gore & death scenes. All slasher fans will want to check this one out!!!
INVISIBLE MANIAC (R) REPUBLIC PICTURES CORP (VHS) 1990
Starring: Noel Peters, Savannah, Stehanie Blake, Melissa Moore, Clement Von Frackenstein & more.
This is a low budget B movie from 1990. The film starts out with a little kid who is watching a girl undress through his telescope, when his mom finds him & flips out on him. He grows up & goes to medical school. He comes up with some medical serum to make you invisible. The experiment goes wrong & he kills a bunch of the doctors he works with. He is placed in a mental institute & eventually escape. He moves & becomes a biology teacher in a high school. he starts getting turned on by all the girls in school & starts working on his invisibilty serum again. It works this time, but the side effects are worst & he goes very crazy. He rapes & kills the women in the school & just kills the men. The movie was ok for a B movie. There was cheesy acting, bad special effects, but there was a lot of topless women to make up for it!!!
LOST SKELETON OF CADAVRA, THE (PG) TRI STAR PICTURES (VHS) 2001
Starring: Fay Masterson, Andrew Parks, Susan McConnell, Brian Howe, Jennifer Blaire & more.
This film was a bit weird. It was made in 2001, but is done all in black & white & is supposed to be like a B horror sci-fi film from the 1950's. They pull it off, very well. There is a lot of cheesy acting, bad story & bad special effects, all done purposely though. The movie is about a dedicated scientest aided by his clueless wife who try to save the world from a radioactive monster. Along for the ride are some curious space aliens. There is also an evil scientest & a crabby skeleton too. This is a good send up to the best B movies in the 1950's. This is worth checking out, just for a few laughs!!!

PRINCE OF DARKNESS (R) MCA / UNIVERSAL HOME VIDEO (VHS) 1987
Starring: Donald Pleasence, Jameson Parker, Victor Long, Lisa Blount, Alice Cooper & more.
I was actually looking forward to checking out this movie. It's a John Carpenter film so it couldn't be too bad right? The movie is about a group of people who find a mysterious fountain in the basement of a church. The fountain drips some weird green glowing ooze. The ooze supposedly possesse the soul of Satan. The ooze takes over the bodies of some of the people in the church. It controls some of the people to attack & kill other people. The people they kill turn to zombies & come back to life & invade the church. The story was a bit weak & the acting wasn't the greatest either. Donald Pleasence was the best as the priest & there is a few parts with a homeless guy played by Alice Cooper. there were a few cool gore parts, but over all this wasn't one of John Carpenter's best films!!!

SEED OF CHUCKY (R) ROGUE PICTURES (DVD) 2004
Starring: Jennifer Tilly, Redman, Brad Dorif, Billy Boyd, John Watters & more.
In this new edition of the Chucky legacy, there's a new edition to the family. A Hollywood movie is being made about the Chucky killings starring puppets of Chucky & Tiffany. When a mysterious doll sees them on TV he travels to Hollywood to see them, thinking they're his parents. When he gets there they won't talk or move, so he reads an incantation on the necklace he has to bring them to life. They go right to killing people on the set. they want to become humans again, so they find two people to be their human body hosts. These people happen to be Jennifer Tilly & her limo driver. They first artificially in pregnant Jennifer, so their new found child can become human as well. Of course everything goes wrong & the killings continue. This Chucky film has gone down the road of more comical than horror. There were some cool parts, but it wasn't as good as

SLAUGHTERHOUSE (R) EMBASSY HOME ENTERTAINMENT (VHS) 1987
Starring: Joe B Barton, Don Barrett, Sherry Leigh, Bill Brinsfield, Jason Collier, Dave Fogel & more.
This is an independent horror flick about an old slaughterhouse. A family owns a slaughterhouse that is being shut down by the government for unsanitary reasons. The father won't let his family buisness be shut down, so he sends his crazy son to kill them all. He uses many devices from the slaughterhouse to brutally murder his victims. The film is kind of like the great
TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE movie, but not as good. There were some really cool gory parts & lots of blood. This is one that's worth checking out if your a gore hound!!!
VISITOR Q (R) ALPHAVILLE / CINEROCKET (VHS) 2001
Starring: Kenichi Endo, Shungiku Uchida, Kazushi Watanabe, Shoko Nakahara, Fujiko & more.
I was a little taken back by this movie because I wasn't expecting anything like this. This is a very bizarre film. This is a Japanese film about a father who is a failed former T.V. reporter. He tries to do a documentary about violence & sex among youths. In doing so, he has sex with his daughter, who is a prostitute. He also films his son being humiliated & hit by classmates. "Q" is a stranger who gets himself involved in this bizarre family's actions. His son beats his mom, has sex with her & is also a prostitute & a heroin addict. The mother always squirts breast milk on the people she has sex with. This was a very strange movie. It's a little slow at times & you need to read subtitles, but it's definately a weird viewing worth checking out!!!
