ANTS (NR) USA HOME VIDEO (1977) Starring: Suzanne Somers, Robert Foxworth, Myrna Loy, Lynda Day George, Gerald Gordon & more. A small time business man is looking to make some big cash, so he buys an old hotel that he is going to redo & turn it into a casino resort. There is a construction crew on the grounds digging up the earth for the renovations. When one of the men gets trapped in one of the ditches, everyone goes in a panic. They finally pull him free, but it's too late. He was attacked by deadly ants. Soon the whole area becomes infested by these deadly ants & many more people become swarmed & killed by these ants. The film was a bit cheesy, with poor story & acting, but it was originally made for TV in the 70's. Nothing special, just your typical insect attacking the human race for revenge type film! There's been better, but there has also been much worst!!!
BARE BEHIND BARS (UR) BLUE UNDERGROUND (1980) Starring: Maria Stella Splendore, Marta Anderson, Danielle Ferrite, Neide Ribeiro, Sonia Regina & more. This is a Brazilian sexploitation film about a women's prison. This film has a lot of the same qualities as the 70's women in prison sexploitation films. There is a girl sent to prison for a crime she did not do who is treated like crap by the other inmates. She becomes the favorite of the warden who sexually seduces & abuses her. After she has had enough she makes a plot to escape the prison. Some of the other inmates join her on the escape. There is plenty of nudity, shower scenes & sex galore in this movie. This film was so close to being a porno that I can't believe it wasn't. This was one of the better women in prison movies I have seen!!!
BASIC INSTINCT 2 (R) - COLUMBIA PICTURES (2006) Starring: Sharon Stone, David Morrissey, Charlotte Rampling, David Thewlis, Hugh Dancy & more. I actually rented this film to see how bad it was going to be, but I was surprised. This film was actually much better than the original movie. The story was better, much more involved & had a better twist to it. Stone is an author who is now living in London & has some wild escapades. When some people start turning up dead, she becomes suspect # 1. She is sent to see a doctor who keeps her under evaluation. They become sexually entangled & things get more suspenseful & twisted from there. The story was very involved & really held my interest more than the first film. This should have done better in the theaters, but will probably do so on DVD. www.sonypictures.com/movies/BASICINSTINCT2
CUBE ZERO (R) LIONS GATE FILMS (2004) Starring: Zachery Bennett, Cassandra Rains, Michael Riley, Martin Roach, David Huband & more. This is the third part of the CUBE movie series, but it actually takes place before the other two films. This edition shows the perspective of the people who are on the outside that monitor the actions of the people in the cube. When one of the guys is going through the victims files he finds that one of them did not sign up for the experiment. He wants to save her & get her out of the cube. He breaks many of the rules he is told to keep & then enters the cube himself to help rescue her. There is some cool twists in this one that were not in the other film & the inside of the cube is different again. This was a fresh twist on this already cool series!!!
NAINA (PG-13) I DREAM PRODUCTIONS (2005) Starring: Urmila Matowakar, Anuj Sawhney, Shweta Kennur, Amardeed Jha, Kamini Khanna & more. This is an India made film. The story follows an Indian family that lives in London, England. They are driving down the street when they get into a car accident. The parents die & the only survivor is the young daughter, but she loses her eyesight. She lives with her grand mother & has an operation to restore her sight when she is 18. She gets her sight back, but see visions of a brutal murder & tries to piece the stuff together to solve the of this crime. It was a little like FINAL DESTINATION, but with a bit of a different story. A little slow at times, but over all a good film!!! Check it out if you can!!! www.NAINAfilm.com
SQUIRM (R) MGM (1976) Starring: Don Scardino, Patricia Pearly, R.A. Dow, Naomi Sanders, Fran Higgins & more. I saw this movie when I was a little kid about 6 or 7 & was kind of freaked out by it. Now I can't believe I was. A small town is hit by an electrical storm that knocks out all the power. Some of the downed power lines hit a bait store & caused all the worms to become vicious & rise up from the ground & attack it's residents. The town starts to fill up with tons & tons of worms that fill the homes & devour anyone they can. The story was a bit cheesy & so was the acting, but for it's time it had some pretty decent make up effects for a low budget Creature Horror film! Not a favorite, but worth a few viewings!!!
V FOR VENDETTA (R) WARNER BROS (2006) Starring: Natalie Portman, Hugo Weaving, Stephen Rea, Stephen Fry, John Hurt & more. This movie takes place in a futuristic society in London England, where the government rules everything. There is a man who shows up & blows up a building in the city to start the revolution. This man has some personal reasons for the revolution as well as political ones. He does some pirate broadcast, sends letters to the press & leaves his markings all around town. The people start to believe his ways & begin to rise up against the government. There is a lot of action in this film, with some cool fight scenes, but there is also a lot of dialogue that gets really boring at times. There is a balance of both, so it's worth sitting through to get to the good parts! http://VFORVENDETTA.warnerbros.com

LOST SKELETON OF CADAVRA (PG) TRI STAR PICTURES (2001) Starring: Fay Masterson, Andrew Parks, Susan McConnell, Brian Howe, Jennifer Blaire & more. This film was a bit weird. It was made in 2001, but is done all in black & white & is supposed to be like a B horror SCI-FI film from the 1950's. They pull it off, very well. There is a lot of cheesy acting, bad story & bad special effects, all done purposely though. The movie is about a dedicated scientist aided by his clueless wife who try to save the world from a radioactive monster. Along for the ride are some curious space aliens. There is also an evil scientist & a crabby skeleton too. This is a good send up to the best B movies in the 1950's. This is worth checking out, just for a few laughs!!! www.LOSTSKELETON.com

INVISIBLE MANIAC (R) REPUBLIC PICTURES CORP (1990) Starring: Noel Peters, Savannah, Stephanie Blake, Melissa Moore, Clement Von Frackenstein & more. This is a low budget B movie from 1990. The film starts out with a little kid who is watching a girl undress through his telescope, when his mom finds him & flips out on him. He grows up & goes to medical school. He comes up with some medical serum to make you invisible. The experiment goes wrong & he kills a bunch of the doctors he works with. He is placed in a mental institute & eventually escape. He moves & becomes a biology teacher in a high school. He starts getting turned on by all the girls in school & starts working on his invisibility serum again. It works this time, but the side effects are worst & he goes very crazy. He rapes & kills the women in the school & just kills the men. The movie was OK for a B movie. There was cheesy acting, bad special effects, but there was a lot of topless women to make up for it!!!

FEAR (R) MCA / UNIVERSAL PICTURES (1996) Starring: Mark Wahlberg, Reese Witherspoon, William L. Peterson, Alysssa Milano & more. Reese Witherspoon plays Nicole who is a 16 year old girl. She & her friend Margo (Alyssia Milano) go out to a party when they meet David (Mark Wahlberg). Nicole & David start dating & getting really close. David gets possessive with her & doesn't want anyone near her including her family & friends. She then breaks off the relationship & he becomes very violent. He & his friends start doing things to terrorize her & her family. He violently & sexually attacks Margo (her friend), kills one of her guy friends & traps her family in their own home. The movie is actually really good & has some really decent intense drama & action. Check this out & see a young Reese, Alyssia & Mark. Good flick!!!
