| AUTUMNAL - THE AGE OF SIN (4 song CD) This is a new band to me out of Spain. These guys play some very dark Death & Goth Metal music mixed. The music has some harder Death Metal edges, but mostly falls in the Goth Metal area. There are some really dreary atmospheres & dark feelings through out the disc. They do toss in some Doom Metal elements at times as well. The vocals are really melodic Goth type male vocals with some eerrines to them. | CORPSE FUCKING ART - SPLATTER DELUXE (14 song CD) FOREVER UNDERGROUND / CRASH MUSIC These sickos out of Italy play some very heavy & brutal grindcore music. The music is very, very aggressive styled old school Death Metal blanketed by a ton of Grindcore. They have a more technical old school sound like old MORTAL DECAY & old INTERNAL BLEEDING. They do toss in some slower chugging with all out blasts. The vocals are done in a low end Death / Grind vomited growling style. I have one of this bands older demos & they have definately improved since then. All Gore Grind freaks need to pick this one up!!! - VIA M. | DAATH - FUTILITY (10 song CD) Damn! This si some really good & very original sounding Metal music. I haven't heard anything this original, unique & amazingly good in a long time. Their music is based in the Death Metal realm, but has tons of influences from Thrash, Grindcore & Industrial. There is such a strong technical & tight sound to their music with lots of variety. I loved this disc all the way through. Their music is an exploration of the negative sides of the human psyche. The vocals are a mix of all three of the above styles & reminded me of old CARCASS. This is a highly recomended album every Metal fan should pick up!!! Get this one!!! | DAWN OF DEFIANCE - SUMMONING DEATH (2 song CD) DAWN OF DEFIANCE is a Thrash/Death Metal band out of South America in Uruguay. They do toss in some Doom metal influences as well. These guys have a solid old school Death Metal sound with slight touches of new school Death Metal in some places. There is a strong coldness & haunting vibe to their music as well. The vocals are done in a low end Death growl style with some echoes effects along with some Thrash & almost Black Metal like vocals. These guys are a really good Death Metal band that should get a lot of attention. It just knocks you on your ass from the beginning. These guys play super fast & aggressive as hell Death/Grind. they are super fast, technical, intense, tight & very, very good! They do have a bit of a different vibe than most bands playing this style. The vocals blend together Death growls, Grindcore screams & Punk styled vocals. | DRUNK MOTHER FUCKERS - FUCK YOU (13 song CD) VERY DIFFERENT RECORDINGS I was expecting these guys to be a Punk band because of the whole attitude from the band's name, CD name & cover artwork. These guys how ever are like a 70's styled Metal band. The music has a very strong vibe like most 70's Metal acts. There is a strong 70's & 80's guitar sound through out the disc as well. The vocals are done in a mid ranged melodic Metal style with some attitude tossed in. These guys have a some what different style & sound. It's as if KYUSS, CLUTCH, C.O.C. & DOWN formed a 70's Metal band!!! |

They toss in lots of Black Metal elements, by mixing up all heavy brutality & atmospheric parts. They have a good blend of rawness & technicalness as well. The vocals are done in a really harsh low Black Metal/Death Metal scream with some occasional angelic female vocals tossed in. | GHOLGOTH - SOMNUS MORTIS IMAGO (9 song CD) ORDEALIS RECORDS This is my first time hearing this brutal Metal band out of Hungary. These guys play a blend of Black Metal, Death Metal & Thrash Metal. Thier music is a mixture of powerful fast & quiet technical music. There is a strong Black Metal darkness that incompasses the beastiality of Death Metal. At times you can hear the Thrash Metal aggression breaking through. They have a real strong Scandinavian Black Metal type feel to their music. The vocals are done in a low raw Black metal growl, Harsh Death Metal growls & some melodic Black/Goth Metal vocals as well. Fans of bands like BEHEMOTH, DISSECTION, VOIVOD & the Scandinavian Metal scene are gonna love these guys!!! |
