| LIQUID CLOUD 9 - NO SOUL NO SALVATION (3 song CD) LIQUID CLOUD 9 is a band based out of my home state of Pennsylvania. These guys play a dark melodic style of Metal music. The music has some what of a Doom Metal feel with lots of grooves tossed in. The drums & bass have a Hardcore mixed with Metal vibe going on. The vocals are done in a melodic Metal style with some Thrash/Hardcore cross over vocals tossed in at times. | LONE WOLF - UNHOLY PARADISE (10 song CD) GOI MUSIC I have a demo CD from this band that's a few years old. I am glad to see they got signed & are still kicking ass in the underground scene. LONE WOLF play a blend of Power/Traditional & Epic Metal music. The music has an almost mideval & dark feel to it. There is a strong battle & triumphant vibe going on all through out. The vocals are done in a mid ranged melodic Traditional Heavy Metal style that some times crosses over into Thrash Metal. | MISANTHROPIC MIGHT - MISANTHROPIC WAR (9 song CD) This is a three piece Metal act out of Austria. These guys play some very heavy & brutal Death/Black Metal music. The music it self has an even balance of Death & Black Metal influences. They have some very melodic & atmospheric parts mixed in with some very heavy blasting & brutal parts. The vocals are done in a mid ranged Death Metal & Black metal cross over styled groggy growls & screams. These bands are a bit better sounding than most Experimental acts I've heard in the past. This could be because they have a more dominate Techno & Industrial sound. I liked all the sample clips that were mixed into the noises. | NUMEN - BASOAREN SEMEAK (8 song CD) GOI MUSIC NUMEN is one of the most extreme bands to emerge out of Spain. These dark lords play some ultra sick Black metal music. The music is very fast, energetic & aggressive as hell. I can hear a lot of Grindcore influences poking out at times. There are some atmospheric parts, but it's mostly brutal ass blasting & grinding. The vocals are done in a high pitched harsh & raw Black Metal growl/scream. The vocals are sung in the oldest language in Europe (Basque). All dark hordes, heade this bands calls!!! - P.O. | PAGAN FIRE - MEBANGIS! MARAHAS! DEMO '04 (4 song CD) PAGAN FIRE hail from the Philippines & play some old styled Thrash Metal music. There are lots of old school Thrash metal elements flavored with some new school ones. The music does have some touches of Black Metal tossed in the mix as well. The vocals are done in a harsh Black Metal & Thrash Metal cross over type scream. These guys are quite good, but the mix was a little rough on the CD. The music is very brutal, heavy & thunderously sick. They spew forth some vomitous music with so much ease. The vocals are done in a very low end gutteral Death/Grind growling style. | SAY BOK GWAI - SELF TITLED (30 song CD) MONKEY KING RECORDS SAY BOK GWAI is San Francisco, California's first Chinese American Hardcore band. These guys melt two cultures together to come up with their unique sound. These guys are great! They play an original style of Hardcore that they call Canto-core. The music is mostly a blend of Hardcore, Punk & Thrash Metal music. I loved the hyperness & adrenaline feeling this band has. The songs are all sung in Cantonese & done in a mid ranged Hardcore style. They do toss in some Experimental influences at times too.
