| DETRIMENT - SURREAL (8 song CD) WETSPOT RECORDS INC. DETRIMENT is based out of Long Island, New York & play a well rounded Metal style of music. These guys toss in lots of elements from Death Metal, Thrash Metal, Power Metal & Traditional Metal. The majority of their music is a mix of Traditional Metal & Thrash Metal. In some of the heavier more aggressive parts is where the Death Metal comes into play. The vocals also run through the above styles of music. These guys have a very original sound, especially cause you don't hear many bands mixing these styles together!!! - DETRIMENTmail@aol.com / www.freewebs.com/DETRIMENT D.O.A. - WAR AND PEACE (25 song CD) SUDDEN DEATH RECORDS This CD is another celebration of the 25th anniversary of Canada's most influential Punk band: D.O.A. This disc is a compilation of D.O.A.'s greatest recorded moments. These guys are definately one of the best Punk bands ever. If you've never heard these guys you must have been in a comma for the past 25 years. D.O.A. stands for everything that is good about Punk Rock music. Follow their career from 1978-2001. These guys stand the test of time & still have what it takes to be a great Punk band. Fans of the bands MINOR THREAT, MEATMEN, SEX PISTOLS, DEAD KENNEDY'S & SLOPPY SECONDS will love this band!!! DRIVES LIKE FIRE - WRECK OF ME (11 song CD) This Pennsylvania based band plays Modern Pop Rock music. The band originally formed in London England by air force recruits. These guys have a sound that is very popular on most top 40 radio stations today. They have a really melodic sounding Pop style to their music. The vocals are also melodic, but very catchy sounding. I'm not really a fan of this style of music, but if your into bands like MATCHBOX TWENTY, COUNTING CROWS, DAVE MATTHEWS BAND or THE WALLFLOWERS, then you'll love these guys!!! - P.O. Emerging from Italy this band plays some very good super fast Death/Black Metal music. They mix a good blend of Death Metal & Black Metal for an even balance. The music is super tight & super fast. It's also heavy as hell. There is a raw dark evilness feel through out the whole disc. The vocals are mix of low Death growls & raw Black Metal growls. These guys are great!!! - VIA GIROLA 1 / 21050 GORLA MAGGIORE (VA) / ITALY / davemacchi@libero.it / ENTIRETY666@libero.it ENTIRETY - IN CAELO OMNIA ACCIDERUNT (6 song CD) NORTHERN DARKNESS RECORDS This is the bands 1997 mini CD release. On this disc the bands sound was a little bit different. On this album they have a more dominate Black Metal sound to their music. The music is still very raw Black Metal, but they have tossed in some more atmospheric parts & a bit more change ups. The vocals are mid ranged throaty Black Metal growls with the occassional higher pitched Black Metal growl tossed in. This almost sounds like a totally different band. I liked both discs a lot!!! ETERNAL FROST WEBZINE PRESENTS - UNDERGROUND ETERNAL COMPILATION (21 song CD) ETERNAL FROST This is a compilation CD put out by Goden of ETERNAL FROST WEBZINE. The compilation features some of the best & most brutal Death Metal bands in the underground scene today. There are 21 songs & 21 bands fetured on this compilation. Some of the bands include: ENCABULOS, FESTERING SORE, VILE, GORETRADE, DRIPPING, SPLATTERED CADAVER & 15 others. This is a very cool compilation that every fan of great Death Metal should check out!!! This compilation also features all the bands contact information & web addresses! - P.O. RECORDS I have this bands previous CD so I already knew what to expect from these guys. These guys play some very bizarre Techno/Death Metal Porno style music. All their songs are about sex & death, mostly together. I loved it. The music is a bit repetative, but it's still very good & very entertaining. This band really needs to be heard. The vocals are also done in a Techno/Death style. If you have a very open mind you should check this band out!!! - 36 CENTRAL PARK ROAD / PLAINVIEW, NY. 11803 / mrhymson@aol.com FISHKILL - A CHANGE OF ATMOSPHERE (15 song CD) I wasn't sure what to expect from this band. They play a weird mix of Hard Rock/ Alternative & a little bit of Punk Rock. The music has a good upbeat driven sound & style with some Alternative flavors. The vocals are done in a Pop like Alternative style with a Punk edge. This is some hard to explain stuff. It's almost as if THE BEACH BOYS were a Punk band & merged with THE RAMONES. Kind of weird, but it works!!! - 5471 PINE ST. / FAIRCHILD AFB, WA. 99011 / FISHKILLmusic@yahoo.com / www.geocities.com/FISHKILLmusic F.O.B. - FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS (10 song CD) I.F.A. RECORDS (Available through BEOWOLF PRODUCTIONS) F.O.B. play a very technical sounding style of Death Metal music. They have a some what classic old school Death Metal feel to their music. They also toss in some influences of Grindcore as well. The vocals are a mix of Grindcore & Death Metal growls. This is a must for all fans of great Death Metal music!!! - PETRA Z USTI 1733 / 390 02 TABOR / CZECH REPUBLIC / band@FOB.cz / www.FOB.cz FOREVER I BURN - THE TRAGEDY DIALOGS (5 song CD) FOREVER I BURN is the new band that has risen from the ashes of the band XIIIPFP. These guys have changed their sound a lot since those days. The music is very heavy, aggressive & powerful Hardcore music. They do toss in lots of Death Metal influences as well. The music is very fast paced & chaotic sounds, which I loved. The vocals are done in a mid to high pitched Hardcore/Death Metal crossover scream. The bands that kept coming to mind were BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME, HATEBREED, DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, ATREYU & CANDIRIA. If your a fan of any of these bands, you will love FOREVER I BURN!!! - P.O. They have a very solid radio friendly Metal style to their sound. There is a melodicness & crunchiness through out the whole disc. Sometimes I can hear some Thrash Metal influences pouring through out their sound. These guys are a very good Metal act in the vein of ANDREW W.K., TAPROOT & even a bit of THE FOO FIGHTERS. These guys are well worth checking out for any Metalhead!!! - www.FORGEmusic.com HATEBREED - THE RISE OF BRUTALITY (12 song CD) UNIVERSAL RECORDS What can I say about this amazingly great band? Nothing! Or at least nothing that would praise them as much as they deserve. I've been a fan of these guys back to their early days & watched them evolve into the great band they are now. These guys blend together a perfect blend of Death Metal & Hardcore. The vocals are also a mix of Hardcore & Death Metal. When I think of bands I'd like my own band to be like HATEBREED is always one of the first bands I think of. Just go get this album & stop listening to me rant! Get it now!!! - P.O.
