| AMISH VIKING HARDCORE - SAILIN' DA HAY (9 song CD) This was something I was looking forward to checking out, just look at their name! These guys play some hyper speed Norwegian styled Hardcore music. They have a lot of energy & aggression in their sound, which I liked a lot. There are some Death Metal influences present in their sound as well, but it mostly sticks to Hardcore. I really dug the cool grooviness in their music along with the breakdowns. AMISH VIKING HARDCORE reminded me of a little heavier version of THE SPUDMONSTERS. I hope I will get to hear more from this very cool band! - P.O. This three piece play a majestic & atmospheric style of Black/Death Metal. The music has a lot of dark emotional depth & fast paced Black Metal sounds. Some of the music sounds almost like haunting operatic music. The music hits both ends of the spectrum in the Black Metal field. The vocals are raw mid ranged Black Metal growls. This is some very well structured symphonic Black Metal. - P.O. These guys really like to mix it up within the Black Metal realm. They toss in some very aggressive raw Black Metal sounds along with some very haunting enchanting & majestic sounds to create their sound. The vocals follow right along with the music. There are very harsh graspy & low male Death growls combined with some beautiful atmospheric female vocals. I liked the changing back & forth of fast pounding beats to slower more melodic sounds a lot! This is a great band that deserves lots of attention!!! - www.8ung.at/ATENOUX BAD LUCK 13 RIOT EXTRAVAGANZA - WITH FRIENDS LIKE THESE...WHO NEEDS ENEMIES! (5 song CD) RESURRECTION A.D. RECORDS I saw these guys a few years back at the NJ Metalfest & thought they were great! Their CD lives up to their live show or vice versa. These guys play a very dirty mixture of Death Metal & Hardcore. the music is very raw sounding Death Metal that has a solid Hardcore style to it. It's got good rhythms, breakdowns, grooves, blasts & lots more. There is both Hardcore & Death Metal vocal styles used as well. If you can package as much blood, violence, hatred, gore & anger into one band, BAD LUCK 13 would be that band. This is a great disc for fans of both Death Metal & Hardcore. Get this before they come for you! And they will! - 44 SOUTH 2ND ST. / PHILADELPHIA, PA. 19106 / www.BADLUCK13RIOT.com BLOOD FOR BLOOD - OUTLAW ANTHEMS (11 song CD) VICTORY RECORDS This is the final studio release from this Hardcore band out of Boston. BLOOD FOR BLOOD play some old school angry Hardcore music & better than most. These guys are amazing! I loved every part of this disc. I'm a huge Hardcore fan & these guys are now one of my favorites. They sound like a lot of the great New York bands like BIOHAZARD, MADBALL, AGNOSTIC FRONT & S.O.D. all rolled into one. If your a Hardcore fan, you must have this disc in your collection. there's tons of anger, energy & power pouring from every ounce of this band! It's sad this is their last disc, cause these guys rule! Get this or any of this bands releases, you won't be disappointed! BLOOD VOMIT - UP FROM THE GRAVE (8 song CD) ETERNAL NIGHT PROD./ BLOODSOAKED PROD. (Available through BEOWOLF PRODUCTIONS) BLOOD VOMIT play some ultra sick & brutal Death/Grind music. The music has a very low end & dark Grindcore feel to it mixed with Death Metal influences. There is a strong old school feel to it as well. The vocals are done in a very low deep Death growl with some high Death screams added. This is one for all fans of old MORTAL DECAY, INTERNAL BLEEDING, MORBID ENTREE, MORTICIAN & SUFFOCATION!!! - keith666@earthlink.net BURNING INSIDE - APPARITION (10 song CD) CRASH MUSIC/PAVEMENT MUSIC I was a little surprised when I first popped this disc in. From the bands name & logo I was expecting them to be a Power Metal act. They're not! These guys play some very good technical & brutal Death Metal. The bands music does have some classic Power Metal & Thrash Metal influences & sounds in it at times, but it is all intwinded in a ball of Death Metal aggression. These guys are amazing. they sound like no one else I can think of. I liked the combination of the above styles they bring together to create a very original sound. With a band that features members of ICED EARTH, DEMONS & WIZARDS, ACHERON, DEATH & CONTROL DENIED, would you expect anything but a great album? - P.O. These guys mix it up a lot in their music to keep things fresh & original. They have lots of influences of old school & new school Death Metal acts. The music itself is a combination of older Death/ Grind with lots of grittiness & some newer grooving Death Metal styles. They have a lot of changes & breakdowns in their music as well as some cool distorted bass riffs, which I dug a lot! There is even a fair share of blast beats to stir things up too! The vocals are done in a couple of different styles. There is a very low full sounding Death growl, a mid ranged harsh Death/Grind type vocal scream & a very raw low gutteral gurggle! These guys are great! Any fan of any style of Death Metal should get this disc! - zombieflesh2000@yahoo.com / www.deathmetal.com/CIRIBUS COLON RUPTURE - DON'T STAY DEAD (43 song CD) NUCLEAR HELL RECORDS COLON RUPTURE are a little bit different than I was wxpecting them to be. They are a Pop band, just kidding! These guys play an extremely raw style of Grindcore/Death Metal. The music is a raw experimental noisy style of Grindcore. The music has some distortion on it as well. Sometimes they remind me of an older raw Black metal style with lots of change ups & screaming. They mix it up between fast & slow beats a lot, which I dug! The vocals are done in a grainy raw Black Metal scream along with a lower Death growl. | DAMNABLE - COMPLETLY DEVOTED (12 song CD) CUDGEL AGENCY DAMNABLE is probably the best Death/Grind band to ever emerge out of Poland. I've heard previous stuff from these guys & they blew me away! This new release is so fucking amazing! They combine every aspect possible from both the Death Metal & Grindcore styles & smash them together to create their sound. Their music is very heavy aggressive & played at hyper blasting speeds! The drums are so fast, they sound like a machine gun going off! The guitars are very low & chugging along also at hyper fast pace. The vocals are done in a low end gutterul Death growl style! This band truly is amazing & talented. DAMNABLE reminded me of older NAPALM DEATH, but only better, faster & heavier! This band is very impressive & should find a permenant home in any Death Metal fans music collection!
