| BABY STAB HORROR - MANIFESTO INFERNALE (6 track CD) Self Released amazing. They play a combination of Black Metal mixed with Thrash Metal & Death Metal as well. I loved the harsh & aggressive Black Metal completely melted together with the Thrash influences. Their sound has an old school vibe to it, but there is a tight well structured new school style to it too. The music sounds so full & sounds like a hell of a lot more than just four guys! The vocals are a blend of harsh Black Metal screams/growls mixed with some lower ended Death Metal growls. | CODE NAME - BIZARRE ACTION FIGURES (13 track CD) LACREME RECORDS I knew I was really gonna dig these guys a lot. CODE NAME is a Spanish Techno Industrial band. They do add some Metal flavoring through out their sound as well. The music has a great driving sound that just kicks you repeatedly & makes you want get up & move. I loved the thick bass sound that is the force behind their sound. They base all their songs on B-Horror movies, which just added to the greatness of this band. The vocals are a mix of male & female vocals, some done melodic & some done harsh Industrial like styles. If you were to mix elements of MINISTRY, HANZEL UND GRETYL, MARILYN MANSON & RAMSTEIN, then you'd get these guys!!! www.CODENAME-music.com |
| CONQUEST OF STEEL - MAY YOUR BLADE NEVER DULL (5 track CD) NO FACE RECORDS CONQUEST OF STEEL hail from the United Kingdom & play some very good sounding & Thrash Metal as ell. There is a strong Epic Metal sound in their music. The guitars is where a lot of the Thrash aggressiveness comes into play. There are some very involved structures that have fast change ups & tempo changes all through out. I liked the triumphant solid drum sound a lot. The vocals are done in a mid ranged melodic style with some higher pitched Power Metal vocals blended in. | DAMNED CREATION - SOILBLACK (5 track CD) Self Released Coming from the darkest pits of Italy is this Black Metal band named DAMNED CREATION. These guys have a very symphonic & powerful Black Metal sound with lots of old school influences. The music has a very strong cold & harsh vibe to it that pulls up some dark images of suffering & torture. There are mixtures of fast blasts pounding & shredding along with some slower more dreary & atmospheric parts. The vocals are done in a mid ranged harsh Black Metal growl/scream crossover style. | EVANESCE - SECURE THE SHADOW (11 track CD) NO FACE RECORDS This is the final album from this British Death Metal band. These guys play some really great uncompromising Death Metal music with a great balance of harsh aggression & thick melody. There is an old school Death Metal vibe happening in their sound with some slight touches of new school influences. I liked the Thrash Metal elements in the guitar work. There is a thick solid sound from this band which makes it very powerful. The vocals are done in a mid ranged Death Metal type growl. I loved this band & it's sad to see them go. If your a fan of bands like DEATH, CARNIVORE, KREATOR & SIX FEET UNDER than you'll love these guys!!! |
| INHALE EXHALE - THE LOST THE SICK THE SACRED (11 track CD) SOLID STATE RECORDS This is the SOLID STATE debut from this Ohio based band. These guys play a strong style of Screamo that is very popular right now. These guys add some flare to their sound to make them stand out a bit more than most bands of this style. They add in some Southern Sludge mixed with post Hardcore angst & some really cool grooves. There are a lot of cool change ups, tempo changes & breakdowns all through out. The vocals are done in a mix of throaty Death/Hardcore crossover styled growls & screams along with some really slow & melodic Emo type vocals. These guys have been spreading their black plague for a few years now & have gotten better with each new release. They have a different sound for a Black metal band which is almost futuristic sounding at times. They base their inspiration on technology, the occult & coming earth changes. This just adds to their sound being different than most Black metal bands out there. The vocals are done in a mid ranged melodic style with some mid to low ranged Death & Black Metal vocals mixed in. | MATHIAS - SELF TITLED (9 track CD) NO FACE RECORDS This is the bands newest release in 5 years. They have been honing their unique style & sound of Metal music. They are not your typical sounding Metal band. There are obvious elements of British Heavy Metal present, but they add their own flare & tweak the sound a bit here & there. There is some heavy riffing & solid drumming that just adds to their sound. The time changes & tempo changes also add to their uniqueness. | MUTILATED SOUL - DECOMPOSITION (6 track CD) Self Released These Italian Death Metal guys are great. They play a thick solid style of old school U.S. Death Metal music. They have very fast & aggressive riffs combined with slow heavy parts. The music is very tight & fast as hell. They bombard you with lots of blasts, change ups & pure adrenalin induced music. The vocals are done in a mid ranged thick throaty Death Metal growl. I liked the strong Florida influenced sound they have. They remind me of some of the greats like CANNIBAL CORPSE, MALEVOLENT CREATION, DEICIDE & SUFFOCATION! | REQUIEM LAUS - PROMO 2006 (5 track CD) Self Released REQUIEM LAUS is Portuguese Metal band that blends in many elements of Black, Death & Doom Metal; styles. These guys are amazing. I loved everything about them. There are some really cool atmospheric parts that add in an almost Egyptian type vibe to the sound. Then they will hit you with some really fast & intense sounding Death Metal aggression & slow it down to a Metal music & toss them all together to create a very solid, technical & well structure sound. The vocals are done in a mid ranged Death metal growl style. This is one highly talented band & should be snag up by a label very soon. | TEMPLAR - WITCH HUNT (6 track CD) PARADOXX MUZIC I wasn't sure what to expect from this band, but I liked what i heard a lot! This 3 piece play a mixture of Industrial, Techno, Goth & Metal music all rolled into one. There is definitely Metal & Industrial elements dominating their sound, but the Techno & Goth ones are there too. I liked how they mixed up the sounds within each song. There is a great pushing or driving groove in their sound to. The vocals are a mixture of Goth, Punk, Metal & Industrial & contain both male & female vocals. I don't really know how to describe them, because they have so much in their sound. If you took the best of T.S.OL., DAVID BOWIE, NASHVILLE PUSSY, CLUTCH, DEAD CAN DANCE, SOUXISE & THE BANSHEES, DOPE, GENITORTURERS, SLIPKNOT & CYCLE SLUTS FROM HELL, blended it all together & you might come close to what this very cool band sounds like!!! www.TEMPLARguild.scriptmania.com |
| T.E.R. - SIN LIFE DEATH (3 track CD) Self Released These guys emerge from the Italy & play some very good Thrash Death Metal music. The name hitting drums & evil sounding vocals. They do have a strong early 90's late 80's Florida Death Metal type sound. I liked this a lot as I'm a huge fan of that style of music. The vocals are done in a mid ranged Death growl style with some hallowed sounding almost Black Metal ones mixed in as well.
