| ATONEMENT - BEYOND THE SHRINE OF DOOM Self Release (8 track CD) ATONEMENT play a very good Black Metal style of music. The music is very dark, cold & eerie feeling. There is a lot of aggression that's mixed with atmospheric parts all through out the music. There are even some good grooves & change ups through out their music. The vocals are done in a harsh mid ranged Death/Black Metal type growl. At times you can even hear some Thrash Metal influences in the guitars coming out. These guys bledn together old school & new school elements of Black Metal music together to create their style & sound. Well worth picking up if your into all forms of Black Metal music!!! | BIOSYSTEM55 - 2000 JUST TO DESTROY ALKEMIST FANATIX (11 track CD) Wow! These guys are really good. This band combines many elements from Hardcore & Metal together to create their style & sound. There are strong Metal sounds all through out, but they are mixed in with Hardcore beats & grooves. They also toss in some good breakdowns & change ups as well. The vocals are a Metal & hardcore crossover style done in melodic & aggressive tones. These guys remind me of a lot of the bands on ROADRUNNER RECORDS today. These guys have been shredding apart the underground scene with their brand of unholy hate filled Death Metal music. The music is ultra fast, aggressive & brutal as hell Death Metal. There are heavy intense grinds blasting all through out their songs. The music just repeatedly beats the crap out of you & you just keep wanting more. | DEAD FRIENDS - MUTATE Self Release (5 track CD) DEAD FRIENDS is a 3 piece Rock band that tosses in other influences as well to create their sound. The music is centered on Rock, but they build on that foundation with elements of Hardcore, Thrash Metal, Nu-Metal, Punk, Alternative & Death Metal. The music has a good driving sound to it all through out. There are some strong Hardcore type grooves in the music, mixed with heavy Thrash Metal like guitars. The vocals are done in a clean Metal style, some melodic Alternative & some harder screaming Death/Hardcore type vocals. | DECEIVERS - EVERBREATHE 53 HARDCORE COMPANY (12 track CD) Damn! This disc is amazing! I loved this bands last disc & even interviewed them, but this disc blows that one away! Right from the start all the way to the end I was digging this disc. These guys blend together many elelments of Hardcore & Death Metal together to create their style & sound. The music is very fast & heavy with lots of grooves tossed in. I love how some songs the Hardcore dominates & others the Death Metal dominates. The vocals are done in a mid ranged harsh screaming growl style. These guys could hold their own with most of the bands on VICTORY RECORDS playing this style. If your into bands like ATREYU, HATEBREED, BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME & SINAI BEACH, then your going to love these guys!!! | DREAM SYSTEM - TRAVELING AFTER MIDNIGHT FORESHADOW PRODUCTIONS (8 track CD) This is the debut full length album form DREAM SYTEM. These guys play diverse emotional music. The music blends together many elements of heavy guitar layers, Electronica, trip-hop, Avantgarde Metal, Soul & much more. There is dark, bleak feeling all through out the music. There are some weird, cold & dreary atmospheric sounds in the music as well. There are a few vocals in the songs, done in a clean Techno or Electronica style. This is very different than most stuff I get, but I liked it a lot. These guys (& girl) play some very cool & different sounding Techno/Electronica music. The music has a really strong space or futuristic sound to it. There are some cool hooks & twists all through out the music. At times you can here some Metal type influences shinning through. There are some angelic & melodic female vocals through out. There are some samples on the CD as well mixed in with the songs. This is music I would expect to hear at a rave or Techno Dance club, especially in Europe some where. | XENOMORPH - NECROPHILIA MON AMOUR (10 track CD) UNDER HER BLACK WINGS XENOMORPH is an excellent Death Metal band in every sense of the word. These guys play ultra fast, heavy & brutal as hell Death metal music. They have a strong old school Death Metal sound, like a lot of the stuff coming out of the Florida Death metal scene in the early 90's. These guys are extremely tight, fast & very good. They toss in some change ups, hooks & breakdowns all through out their songs. I loved the solid sounding drum beats that push this band forward. The vocals are done in a perfect mid ranged Death haunt growl. Any fan of classic Death metal bands like SUFFOCATION, MALEVOLENT CREATION, CANNIBAL CORPSE, DISMEMBER & HATEPLOW will surely enjoy this great band!!! |

They do toss in some elements of Thrash Metal, Speed Metal, Power Metal & Traditional Heavy metal as well. The music is quite powerful & contains a mix of heavy riffs, atmospheric keyboards, pounding drum beats & clean melodic vocals. They have a more technical & tighter sound on this disc than on past releases.
