PREMATORY is a Thrash Metal band hailing from Belgium that formed back in 2007.
These guys have really progressed over the years and have truly formed into an amazing
Modern Thrash Metal band. They have a very progressive Thrash Metal sound with
some really thought out and well structured songs. They pull influences from classic
Thrash Metal bands and kind of give them a Modern Thrash Metal twist. I liked the fact
that they added in some slight Death Metal touches in certain spots to kind of break
things up. They do the formula we all know and love with Thrash Metal, by have some all
out Thrash guitar grooves, killer grooved out drum beats and pounding bass. They tend to
lean more towards a Modern Thrash style with way the songs are laid out. At times you
can hear some almost Power Metal influences, because some of the songs have a bit of an
Epic feel to them. The vocalist, Simon Duson has a vocal style that reminds me of Phil
from PANTERA mixed with Chuck Billy from TESTAMENT & Tom Araya from
SLAYER. The lyrical content is about social, political & global problems, which just adds
to them have that Thrash Metal vibe. If you were to add the above bands with some
MUNICIPAL WASTE, TOXIC HOLOCAUST & CROSS EXAMINATION then you
would get a pretty decent idea of what these guys sound like! In other words, go get this
album and Thrash it real loud and real often!
