"BLOOD OF A THOUSAND HEARTS"
SICADIS is a force to reckoned with right from the start. The band hails from Kansas City
and play a bludgeoning style of Death / Thrash Metal that demands to be heard. The band
consists of veteran musicians of the Kansas City Metal scene and it shows with just one
listen. The guys play a very technical, yet melodic style of music that also is quite aggressive
and brutal through out. The majority of their sound is based within the Thrash metal genre,
but it is heavily infused with Death Metal. There is old school styled Thrash Metal within
the guitar work of Andrew Nagorski, while also having a more modern technical Thrash
Metal sound too. I loved the grooved out aggressive Thrash riffs the most. The drums and
vocals is where the majority of The Death Metal influences come in. The drums are fast
paced blasting and sometimes a controlled spastic style of brutal Death Metal. Brett Carter's
vocals are done in a Death Metal growl style, but they are borderline Thrash Metal and
reminds me of the early 90's when a lot of Thrash Metal was starting to merge with Death
Metal. The vocals remind me of Chuck Billy of TESTAMENT a little when they were
doing a little bit more Death Metal vocals like on "DEMONIC" & "THE GATHERING"
mixed with Randy Blithe of LAMB OF GOD. If you dig killer bands like IN FLAMES,
EXODUS, TESTAMENT, LAMB OF GOD, PANTERA & SOILWORK, then your
gonna love SICADIS!
