THE LEGEND OF HELL HOUSE (PG)
20TH CENTURY FOX FILM CORPORATION (1973)

Starring: Pamela Franklin, Roddy McDowall, Clive Revill, Gayle Hunnicutt, Roland Culver & more.

A team of paranormal investigators spends a week in a haunted house to find out if there are evil
spirits there. Some of the investigators believe that the house is haunted with spirits and some of
them don't believe that there are any spirits involved. This film kind of has a Gothic type feel to it
and reminds me of a lot of the old
HAMMER FILMS of the late '60's and early '70's. The movie is a
bit campy for todays standards of haunted house and evil spirits type films. There are some parts
where stuff is flying around the room, the table starts levitating and shaking all over the place and it
becomes a little cheesy. The story was a bit decent for the time being and the acting was also good
even though some of the lines where kind of funny in a cheesy way. The story is a bit slow at first,
but keeps building with intensity and creepiness as the film moves forward. The run of the mile
Horror fan of today would probably not like this film, but the true die hard Horror fan can see the
gem that this classic film is. Check it out and keep and open mind and remember when the film was
made!!!
