THE NEW YORK RIPPER (UR)
FULVIA FILM (1982)
Starring: Jack Hedley, Almanta Suska, Howard Ross, Andrea Occhipinti & more.
THE NEW YORK RIPPER is one of Lucio Fulci's most extreme and cruel films. The movie takes
place in a dirty and gritty New York City during the late 70's, early 80's. It follows the horrific murders
of a serial killer of woman in the city. The police are on the trail of this killer, but he keeps eluding them
when ever he can. The bizarre thing about the killer is he taunts the police and calls them, but he uses a
weird voice and quacks like a duck. That's right, I said quacks like a duck. Viewing it now, makes it
seem kind of comical and annoying, but at the time probably showed more of how demented and
mentally disturbed the killer is. There are some pretty gruesome murder scenes and contains a lot of
blood. This is definitely one of Lucio Fulci's better films and one of the more memorable. Fans of Fulci
will have already scene this, but if not it is a must view.
