| COULD YOU PLEASE GIVE A LITTLE BACKGROUND HISTORY ON THE BAND & HOW YOU GOT TOGETHER? Me & K always talked about starting a band together, so after about 8 years of drunken visions, K finally grew his beard out long enough, so he started to write songs & I started doing the lyrics. Then Mia joined in on vocals to bring some more contrasts to the band. We have uptil now released 2 albums, that MASSACRE RECORDS kinda forgot to send to the stores coz it's hardly available anywhere!!! WHY WAS THE NAME PROJECT HATE CHOSEN FOR THE BAND? The band name is THE PROJECT HATE MCMXCIX. It's a crap name, but it kinda tells something of what we are about. Total hate against anything considered holy!!! WHO OR WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR INFLUENCES IN LIFE & IN CREATING YOUR MUSIC? Our influences in music are so totally different from each member. K listens to a lot of crap that I can't stand, like KORN, SLIPKNOT & he thinks the same of me when I put on some SATYRICON or DARK THRONE. We got a few bands in common though, like KRISIUN, DARK FUNERAL & a few more. In life, fuck man, religion in general, stupid, ignorant, easy fooled people & laughter. HOW DID YOU GET HOOKED UP WITH PAVEMENT MUSIC TO RELEASE YOUR DEBUT CD "CYBER SONIC SUPER CHRIST"? I think MASSACRE & PAVEMENT had a distribution deal going or something. THIS ALBUM CAME OUT OVER A YEAR OR SO AGO, HOW WELL WAS IT RECIEVED? Our music is so complex that we have 2 camps of fans, those who love it & those who can't stand it. But those who like it seem to really fucking like it a lot! It got really good & really shitty reviews, haha... But I rather see a shit review than an average review, coz they mean nothing to me. WHICH SONG FROM THAT ALBUM BEST REPRESENTS THE PROJECT HATE & WHY? I think "Christianity Delete". Because it's one hell of a good song. COULD YOU EXPLAIN THE CONCEPT BEHIND THE ALBUM NAME & THE CD COVER ART? K came up with that title, for a reason I can't tell cos he would have to kill me if I say it. The artwork was done by a good friend of K, one hell of a sick, drunk guy named Leifi Plomeros. It has a mechanical feel to it to represent the music & some evil feel to represent the lyrics. WHAT ARE SOME OF THE LYRICAL CONCEPTS OF YOUR SONGS? HATE!!! "CYBER SONIC SUPER CHRIST" IS THE ONLY ALBUM I HAVE OF YOURS, HAS THERE BEEN ANY OTHER RELEASES SINCE THIS ONE. IF SO, COULD YOU GIVE SOME INFORMATION ON THEM? The last one was released last year & was called "WHEN WE ARE DONE, YOUR FLESH WILL BE OURS". It's like a continuation to what "CYBER SONIC SUPER CHRIST" was all about. |
| YOU GUYS DON'T REALLY FIT THE TYPICAL MOLD OF A LOT OF BANDS I HEAR COMING OUT OF SWEDEN. HOW WOULD YOU SAY YOU DIFFER FROM MOST BANDS OF THIS STYLE? We don't try to be like any other band, where as a lot of other bands copy a lot from other bands. We are on a mission on our own, to dominate. And we do coz we are the only band that sounds like us =) HOW WOULD YOU COMPARE THE MUSIC THAT COMES OUT OF EUROPE TO THE MUSIC COMING OUT OF THE U.S.? I think most of the bands, whether they are a Death Metal band, Black Metal band, etc... Scandinavian bands are a lot more brutal & not as much as a show off like many of the bands in the states are. I think Scandinavian bands concentrate on doing good songs instead of trying to be as complicated as possible. |
