THE VIDEO DEAD (R)
EMBASSY HOME ENTERTAINMENT (1987)

Starring: Michael St. Michaels, Thaddeus Golas, Douglass Bell, Al Millan, Roxanna Augesen & more.

This film takes me back to the great video explosion of the 1980's when I would love going to the video
store and looking at all the Horror movie covers trying to pick one that looked "killer".
THE VIDEO
DEAD
plays a little on those days, when you would imaging what you saw on the TV screen coming
through and coming to life. This movie is about a strange unlabeled package being delivered to a house
in the woods. The package contains a TV set that lets loose a bunch of slow moving gross Zombies.
Later on a new family moves into the house when the son discovers the TV set. He turns it on and the
Zombies are let loose again. The old man later appears on the set to warn the kid. He also explains to
him what he needs to do to get rid of the Zombies. As you would expect from a low budget cheesy 80's
Horror flick, there is a lot of gory Zombies, some that look really cool and some that are really bad.
There is a lot of 80's cheese here as well, like the bad acting, horrible one liners and some low budget
gore. The film feels like it could have been a
TWILIGHT ZONE or TALES FROM THE CRYPT
story. If you grew up an 80's Horror fan, then you will love this little gem. A must for hardcore Horror
and Zombie freaks, but if your into a lot of the crappy Horror flicks Hollywood has been turning out
lately, then you might want to skip this film. Zombies! Zombies! Zombies!
