TEXAS CHAINS MASSACRE: THE BEGINNING (R) NEW LINE CINEMA (2006)
Starring: Andrew Bryniarski, R. Lee Ermey, Jordana Brewster, Taylor Haudley, Diora Baird & more.
My boy Leatherface is back. This film is like a prequel/remake. The film takes you back to before Thomas a.k.a.
Leatherface is born. It shows you his mother & what she did to him as a child. He is a deformed child & wears
bandages on his face. He worked in the slaughter house near their home. Once the slaughter house closes down he
snaps & kills the owner. This is the start of his killing spree. The "cop", which is his uncle pushes him further to
do the killings & they do this to anyone they can get passing through the town. Some stuff was similar to the
original, but there was a lot added to it as well. This film was really gory & sick at times. I believe Tobe Hooper,
Fans of these films should be pleased with this movie. I know I loved it!

THE RING VIRUS (R) AFDF (1999)
Starring: Eun-Kyung Shin, Seung-Hyeon Lee, Jin-Yeong Jeong, Chang-Wan Kim, Du-Na Bae & more.
This film is a Japanese horror movie. This is just about exactly the same as
THE RING movie or the original
Japanese version
RINGU. A women finds a mysterious tape & watches it. On the tape there is all this bizarre &
creepy stuff happen. Once she views it, she gets a phone call telling her she will die in 7 days. Anyone else who
views this will get the same treatment. She tries to figure out the meaning behind the tape & in the process save
her own life. This film was pretty creepy looking. It was a bit slower than the U.S. remake, but it was much
darker & freaky looking. If you don't mind reading subtitles, you should check this out & see where the story
originally cam from. Japanese do it better!!!
THE WOODS (R) SONY PICTURES (2006)
Starring: Emma Campbell, Bruce Campbell, Patricia Clarckson, Agnes Bruckner, Rachel Nichols & more.
A young girl who always fights with her mother rebels & sets the woods on fire behind her house. She is taking
to a boarding school for special girls. Once there she realizes she doesn't fit in with any of the other girls except
one. A few girls keep starting trouble with them & they are always fighting. One girl disappears & they tell her
about the legend of the house. How three young witches used to go there & were always picked. They invoked
the help of the woods to take care of these people. Now these women & the woods have control of the school.
This is why everyone is afraid & does what they are told. The ones who don't go missing! The story was pretty
good & it kept my interest. It reminded me of a darker version of
THE CRAFT.

SYMPATHY FOR LADY VENGEANCE (R) TARTAN VIDEO (2005)
Starring: Yeong-Ae Lee, Min-Sik Choi, Tony Barry, Anne Cordiner, Su-hee Go & more.
This is part of the trilogy done by the director of the great film
OLD BOY. A young woman is released from
prison & the story plays backwards to reveal why she was sent to prison. It is revealed that she took the fall for
a man she was in love with who was molesting young children & killing them. They go through some of her
experiences in prison with the other inmates. It shows how she decides to take her revenge upon her release. This
film is very, very cool. It has a twisted Quentin Tarantino type feel to it with lots of suspense, drama, action &
off humor with a great story! This is one I look to own on DVD & watch a lot. Everyone must view this film,
even if your not into Asian cinema. A great flick that's highly recommended!!!

WISHING STAIRS (R) TARTAN VIDEO (2003)
Starring: Ji-Hyo Song, Han-Byeo Park, An Jo, Jlyeon Park, Su-A Hong & more.
Two best friends that do everything together discover a special staircase where you must count each step up to
dance competition & the one girl wishes to beat the other. The other girl gets hurt when she is pushed down the
stairs & then she eventually kills herself. The other girl wishes for her to come back to life, which she does, but
she has gone crazy & starts killing all the girls in the school. There are some bizarre twists in the plot & some
really weird things too. This is a cool film that reminds me a little of the story about the Monkey Hand that
gives you wishes, but they always back fire on the person who makes them!!!

ZOMBIEZ (R) LIONS GATE FILMS (2005)
Starring: Jenica Garcia, Courtney S Bunbury, Randy Clarke, J. Teddy Garces, Jamel Scott & more.
Why? Why? Why? I don't know why
LIONS GATE FILMS would release something like this film. I know
they are known for releasing low budget horror films, but this was below them. This wouldn't even be good for
TROMA to put out. The film is about a woman who works on the docks & is harassed by the guys she works
with & is also attacked by Zombiez. The acting, story, dialogue, make up, locations, shooting & anything else
you can think of are all really, really bad. I have nothing against low budget films, but when your trying to be
like a major film & fail measurably it has to be said. This was like watching a terrible childs play shot on home
video. Do yourself a favor & avoid this film, there are much better Zombie films out there, be careful though
cause there are also a lot more bad ones out there too!!!
THE RING TWO (PG-13) DREAMWORKS (2005)
Starring: Naomi Watts, Simon Baker, David Dorfman, Elizabeth Perkins, Gary Cole, Sissy Spacek, Kelly Stables.
I was really looking forward to this sequel because I loved the first film as well as the original Japanese version &
the previews looked really good. In this second part the movie starts out about the tape again, where if you
watch it you get a phone call saying you will die in seven days. Once they get done dealing with that for about
ten minutes the rest of the film focuses on Rachel & Aidan from the first film. They soon become haunted by
Simara again. This time Simara wants to live again & she is coming for Aidan, Rachel's son. She does what she
can to haunt him till she takes over his body & becomes alive again. There were a few weird parts, but for the
most part the film wasn't scary at all. There were some good special effects at times, but I was kind of let down.
The first was so great, the second was a big disappointing!!!

THE GRUDGE (PG-13) SONY PICTURES (2005)
Starring: Sarah Machelle Gellar, Jason Behr, Clea Duvall, Kadeg Strickland, Bill Pullman, Ted Raimi.
When I saw the previews for this movie, it really grabbed my attention & it pulled me in. Plus it was a remake of
a Japanesse horror, which I love & it was directed by Sam Raimi (
EVIL DEAD TRILOGY, SPIDER-MAN 1 &
2
) one of my favorite directors.  The movie is about a house in Japan that all these strange things keep happening
in & everyone who enters the house is eventually killed off. A family purchases the house three years after
something major happened in the house. There are some bizarre, deformed & half dead humans who cause all
these things to happen. The story was pretty good & done really well. The crazy special effects & make up
effects were really good too. This wasn't one of my favorite Sam Raimi films, but it's still a great Raimi flick. I
will probably buy this one on DVD soon!

SIN CITY (R) DIMENSION (2005)
Starring: Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Clive Owen, Nick Stahl, Elijah Wood & more.
I was so anxious to see this film from the very first posters & trailers I saw for it. I was familiar with Frank
Miller's comic book series, but never read it. I loved his art work from the comics & they portrayed it extremely
well in the movie. I also loved the black & white with splashes of color here & there. This movie fucking rules! I
loved it! There are three different stories being told at the same time & they inter mix with each other at times.
Bruce Willis is a detective who saves a little girl from a child molester. The child molester happens to be the son
of the governor of Sin City. The second & best story is about Marv (played by Mikey Rourke). He is a huge
scarred up & battered up guy who always seems to make trouble where ever he goes. When a beautiful hooker
falls for him & she is then murdered he goes on a rampage to find a killer. The third story is about a man who is
out to stop a gang who do nothing but cause trouble through out Sin City. He teams up with a gang of hookers
who are tough a shit & run part of the city to stop the gang. These women are the toughest people in Sin City &
the last people you want to cross. See this amazing movie it is great!!!

SAW (R) LIONS GATE FILMS (2004)
Starring: Leigh Whannell, Cary Ellues, Danny Glover, Michael Emerson, Ken Leung.
From the very first short preview I saw fro this movie I was very interested in seeing the film. The movie is
about a serial killer who "kills" his victims with out actually killing them. He places them in situations where they
must figure out a way to survive or they will die. It's actually up to them weather they survive or not. The movie
are, how they got there or why they are there. Once they find the lights they see a body in the middle of the room
with a gun in one hand & a tape recorder in the other. The body is lying a huge pool of blood from the person
blowing their brains out. They both have tapes in their pockets they must play in the tape recorder. The tapes
have clues to how they can escape the situation. I'm not saying anything else, except this movie was great! I loved
it! It messes with your mind the whole time. If you liked the movie
SEVEN, then you'll love this one. It's better,
and
SEVEN was a great film!!!
