DON'T LOOK UP (R) E1 ENTERTAINMENT (2009)
Starring: Rachel Murphy, Reshad Strik, Eli Roth, Henry Thomas, Carmin Chaplin & more.
A young group of film makers are shooting a remake on location in Transylvania. While there the film crew
discovers some old footage of a woman being murdered on film. What they don't realize is that by them watching
the footage they set of a chain of supernatural events. Strange things begin to happen on the set as well as to
some of the film crew on the set. This is a creepy supernatural thriller film that is adapted from a short story of
Hideo Nakata who wrote the Japanese Horror hit THE RING. In some ways this film has a dark vibe like a lot
of the Japanese Horror movies. I was expecting this to be a little more exciting to watch, but it was mostly a
slow paced flick with some cool gore parts in the death scenes. Eli Roth who directed the HOSTEL movies
co-stars in the film as well as Henry Thomas who played Elliot in the E.T. movie.
FRIGHT NIGHT (REMAKE) (R) DREAM WORKS (2011)
Starring: Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, Toni Collette, David Tennant, Imogen Poots & more.
This is a remake of the 1985 Horror movie of the same name. The original was good mixture of Horror and
comedy, where this one focuses a little more on the Horror side. Charlie Brewster is a teen who suspects his new
neighbor Jerry Dandrige is a Vampire. He tries to convince his best friend to help him find out if it's true or not.
He doesn't believe him and he investigates by himself & tries to enlist Vampire expert Peter Vincent to help.
Jerry soon reveals himself as a Vampire and begins to go after everyone close to Charlie. This remake stays
pretty close to the original story, but they did add in some different aspect to make it a little more believable.
There was also a bit more gore and violence in this remake as well, I wasn't a big fan of the original, but this was
a decent remake.
LAST OF THE LIVING (UR) QUANTUM RELEASING (2009)
Starring: Morgan Williams, Robert Faith, Ashleigh Southam, Stacey Stevens, Jullian Josland & more.
This is a Horror comedy from New Zealand done in the vein of SHAUN OF THE DEAD, not nearly as good,
but done in the same style. Three friends do what they can to survive as everyone who is infected with a strange
virus is turned into flesh eating Zombies. They start to get used to their new environment and start to enjoy it.
They take advantage of their easy pickings and have a little fun along the way killing Zombies. When they come
across a young female doctor the two guys kick into high gear and try to be heroes by trying to get the doctor to
a government base to find a cure. This flick starts off a little slow, but then kicks in and the violence, gore and
comedy are a plenty. If your a Zombie fan then you should check out this little independent Horror flick.
NEIGHBOR (UR) LIONSGATE (2009)
Starring: America Olivo, Christian Campbell, Lauren Rooney, Pete Postiglione, Joe Aniska & more.
America Olivo from the FRIDAY THE 13TH (REMAKE) & BITCHSLAP films is a sexy and charming
woman who gains the confidence of a single musician named Don. He wants to throw a party and invite her to it.
She shows a little early and seduces him in his basement, but this is where thing turn bad. She becomes very
violent and proceeds to sexually and violently torture him. As friends start showing up she begins to do the
same thing to those few who wander into the basement looking for him. This is another one of those flicks that
you have no idea what is going to happen until about half way through when you realize there is something very
unstable about her. It's not really a scary Horror movie, just a little disturbing with some of the things she does.

PRIEST (PG-13) SCREEN GEMS (2011)
Starring: Paul Bettany, Karl Urban, Cam Gigandent, Maggie Q, Lily Collins & more.
This post apocalyptic Horror thriller is based on a popular comic book. In the future the church rules and the
priest were used to wipe out vicious creatures who tried to take over the planet. Now everything is calm until
one incident brings up suspicion that these creatures still exist. Paul Bettany goes to the church to re-instate the
priest to investigate, but they don't believe him. He goes against their will to investigate and kill the remaining
creatures. He teams up with some other priest and discover the Vampire creatures exist and go after them. They
fight them and wipe most of them out only to discover there is something far worst behind the Vampire
creatures. This was a pretty cool with that takes a different twist on the Vampire genre, filled with enough action
and gore.

SUCK (R) D & E ENTERTAINMENT (2009)
Starring: Rob Stefaniuk, Jessica Pare, Paul Anthony, Mike Lobel, Chris Ratz & more.
Joey is the singer of a Rock band called THE WINNERS, but they are anything but. Him and his band mates
will do anything to gain the Rock star fame, fortune and immortality. When they stop to play a club they find
out this isn't your typical Rock club. A Vampire queen bites into their bassist Jennifer and she soon discover a
new life. She slowly convinces the rest of the band besides Joey into becoming Vampires as well. They play the
club circuit and feed off of people along the way. They soon become more and more popular and are heading for
the stardom they crave. This was a bit of a cheesy Horror flick, but it did have Malcolm McDowell as a
Vampire Hunter, Henry Rollins as a radio host, Alice Cooper as a bar tender and Iggy Pop as a music producer.

THE CRAZIES (ORIGINAL) (R) ANCHOR BAY (1973)
Starring: Lane Carroll, Will MacMillion, Harold Wayne Jones, Lloyd Hollar, Lynn Lowry & more.
In this George Romero flick a government plane crashes in a hidden lake in a small Pennsylvania town. The
cargo contains some toxic chemicals that seep into the water supply. The town doesn't discover this until it's
too late. Anyone who has been drinking the water has slowly becoming mad crazy and start killing anyone they
can. Firefighter David and his wife Judy have not become infected cause they have had any of the water must
now do what they can to survive. They try to find other survivors along the way. The government eventually
comes in and quarantines the town. They have been killing anyone they believe that has been infected and in the
end wipes out the whole town. This was a cool flick, but some of the sound was really annoying. This is one of
those film that I only enjoyed the story, but actually prefer the remake over the original.
THE FLY (R) 20TH CENTURY FOX (1986)
Starring: Jeff Goldblum, Geena Davis, John Getz, Joy Boushel, Leslie Carlson & more.
Believe it or not, this is the first time I have seen this classic Sci-Fi Horror flick. Jeff Goldblum is a scientist who
is experimenting with teleportation. He creates a device that has two chambers and he teleports a chimpanzee
from one chamber to the other. He befriends a reporter and wants her to write a story on his experiments. She
tells him she things it is a bad idea to mess with this. He disregards what she says and tries it on himself. When
he does it something goes terribly wrong. A fly gets stuck in the chamber with him and he re-materializes with
the DNA of the fly mixed with his body. As time goes one he starts to morph into a human fly. The
transformation is some of the most detailed, horrific a gross stuff ever filmed. Even after over 20 years it still
stands up to most of the stuff that is produced today. If you haven't seen this yet, you must witness it!
THE FLY 2 (R) 20TH CENTURY FOX (1989)
Starring: Eric Stoltz, Daphne Zuniga, Lee Richardson, John Getz, Frank C. Turner & more.
Martin Brundle is raised in the confines of a laboratory. Once he gets into his early twenties he starts to wonder
what's on the outside and why he is confined to the laboratory. He starts to investigate and discovers that he is
the child of Seth Brundle, the man who first started the teleportation experiments. He later finds out that he has
also inherited the fathers genes which also include that of the insect. Once he turned twenty one the insect gene
starts to take over his body. He must now use his new found powers to use them against his captors. This
second installment wasn't nearly as good as the first film, but it was still a decent Sci-Fi Horror type flick. The
effects weren't as involved as the first one either, but they were still pretty detailed. You don't really need to see
the first film to understand what's going, but it does help a little.
THE HORDE (R) IFC FILMS (2009)
Starring: Claude Perron, Jean-Pierre Martins, Eriq Ebouaney, Aurelien Recoing, Doudou Masta & more.
This is a French Horror flick that takes place in the city of Paris. Four corrupt police men invade a gangsters
hideout to avenge the death of one of their fellow officers. Once there they quickly find themselves out manned,
out gunned and trapped. There is a stand off between them and they are ready to go to battle until a third group
appears. The building they are in is now swarming with Zombies who are hungry for flesh. There is now a three
way battle for survival going on. The cops and crooks must decide to work together or fight it out on their own.
This was a really cool Zombie flick with lots of gruesome special make up effects, gore, blood and violence. It's
really cool to see what other countries do with the Zombie genre and this was has done it right. One of the best
foreign Zombie flicks I've seen in a long time.
