HORROR MOVIE REVIEWS
(December 2010)
BLOOD MOON RISING (UR) VICTORY ANGEL FILMS (2009)
Starring: Laurie Love, Ron Jeremy, Neal Trout, Kent Welborn, Jose Rosete & more.
Adult film star Ron Jeremy headlines in this campy Horror flick. An army of evil creatures rises from Hell at the
behest of Lucy, the Devil's daughter. The outcome of the world rest in Sadie's hands, who is the great great grand
daughter of Lucy. Sadie gathers up some people along with her nerdy comic book geek friend to protect the
world. She must fight a bunch of Zombies, Vampires and a lot of other creatures in order to survive. This is
definitely a low budget production Horror flick that adds the campy cheesy in with the Horror gore. If you love
B-Horror films in the vein of
TROMA films then you'll dig this flick, but if not, stay clear of this one. Come on,
what would you expect with Ron Jeremy in the lead role?

FROM
BEYOND
". Authorities suspect is assistant played by Jeffrey Combs as the killer. A psychiatrist is brought in
to try and solve the case. This is another film that is more of a thriller than a Horror flick, but has many Horror
elements in it to keep Horror fans interested. The film is based on one of  H.P. Lovecraft's short stories. This is
a  cool film just for the fact it has fan favorite Jeffrey Combs (
RE-ANIMATOR) in it.
IT'S ALIVE (UR) FIRST LOOK PICTURES (2008)
Starring: Bijou Phillips, James Murray, Raphael Coleman, Owen Teale, Ty Glasser & more.
This is a remake of the Larry Cohen 1974 film of the same name. Bijou Phillips is a proud new mom of a
beautiful new baby. What she soon comes out to find is that her baby is a natural born killer. The baby starts to
do some very evil things and the dead bodies start to mount up. The mom stays in denial never thinking her baby
could be responsible, but soon she must face the evidence. The baby then turns on her and she needs to make a
decision to survive or die. This is a pretty decent violent movie even though the concept is a little far fetched. I
haven't seen the original, so I can't compare the two, but check out both films if you get a chance.

PULTRYGEIST: NIGHT OF THE CHICKEN DEAD (R) TROMA (2006)
Starring: Jason Yachanin, Kate Graham, Allyson Sereboff, Robin L. Watkins, Joshua Olatunde & more.
From the films title you will not be surprised that this film comes from the sick twisted minds of
TROMA. A
fast food chicken restaurant is built on an ancient Indian burial ground. The spirits rise up and posses the
chickens and turn them into Zombie Chickens! That's right, I said Zombie Chickens! The chickens then start
attacking the employees and all the customers in the restraint. There is a lot of crazy over the top gore and
humor that is come to expect from
TROMA.  Some of the gore is horrific and some is just plain violent. This is
one of the more whacked out and goriest films to come out of
TROMA and that's saying a lot! TROMA fans
rejoyce!!!

SKYLINE (PG-13) ROGUE PICTURES (2010)
Starring: Eric Balfour, Scottie Thompson, Brittany Daniel, Crystal Reed, Neil Hopkins & more.
A group of wealthy friends spend some time in the sun partying and celebrating, but their fun is cut short. Once
the friends wake up the next morning they discover that the world has been invaded and that they are part of a
few left of the human race. They try to figure out what is happening and how to survive. Trapped in an
apartment high rise building they try to hide from the alien creatures and escape. They sense the movement of
people and become very violent and start slaughtering everyone. I really liked this whole movie up until the
ending. It had a typical sob happy Hollywood ending that really disappointed me and made me not like the film
as much. Check it out, but be for warned of the cheesy ending!

THE GIRL NEXT DOOR (R) STARZ HOME ENTERTAINMENT (2007)
Starring: William Atherton, Blythe Auffarth, Blanche Baker, Kevin Chamberlin, Dean Faulkenberry & more.
This film follows the harrowing events of two adolescent girls who are sent to live with their Aunt after losing
their parents in an accident. Their Aunt Ruth seems like a nice person, especially to the rest of the neighbors in a
small New Jersey town. The Aunt is really a sadistic psychopath. The two girls are put through such torture
and unthinkable punishment at the hands of their Aunt and three cousins. They are locked away in the basement
a repeatedly tortured, raped & beaten. This is a very horrific film and really makes you sick to your stomach
what these poor girls when through. The thing that makes it worst is the fact that it's based on true events.

ZOMBIE WARS (NR) AMERICAN WORLD PICTURES (2008)
Starring: Adam Stuart, Alissa Koenig, Jim Hazelton, Kristi Pearce, Jonathan Badeen & more.
A small group of rebels have discovered that the Zombie population has grown to large mounts and they are
breeding humans for consumption. They start making plans to rid the planet of the flesh eating undead monsters
for good. The humans are forced to live in small refuge camps on the fringes of civilization. Once they gather
enough people they head out to destroy all the undead. The zombies attack them and violence ensues. The movie
is very low budget, which is obvious, but it still had a lot of decent Zombie makeup effects and lots of gore. Not
one of the best Zombie films ever made, but still a decent film as far as Zombies go. This is one for die hard
Zombie fans, but your average Horror fan won't enjoy this as much.
