HORROR MOVIE REVIEWS
(June 2010)
KNOCK, KNOCK (R) LIONSGATE (2007)
Starring: Nicole Abisinio, Chris Bashinelli, Kat Castaneda, Kim Taggart, Sal Sirchia & more.
Some one starts picking off the kids at a local high school and everyone starts to become a suspect. Two
detectives are sent in to take over the case and find the killer. All leads point to the janitor, but everything is not
as it seems. The detectives delve deeper and deeper into the killings and find themselves maybe becoming
targets too. This is another one of those teen Horror flicks, but this one is much better even though it's a lower
budget film. There are some cool gore parts that make this film well worth checking out at least once or twice.

LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT (Remake) (R) ROGUE PICTURES (2009)

This is another remake of the first film that Wes Craven did back in the 70's of the same name. The film follows
a family who leave far into the woods down a long dirt road with very few houses nearby. The leave at "the last
house on the left" The two young girls go out on their own to head out to the nearby small town. Along the
way the run into a young boy who asks them to come with him to smoke some weed. The girls follow him back
to a hotel room. There the kids father and two friends come in a start beating the girls a torturing them. They
take them on a little horrific ride and continue with the torturing. This remake is really good and mostly stuck to
the story of the original., but the original was much more brutal through out, that you almost thought it was real.

MUNSTER, GO HOME! (PG) UNIVERSAL PICTURES (1966)
Starring: Fred Gwynne, Yvonne DeCarlo, Al Lewis, Butch Patrick, Debbie Watson & more.
MUNSTER, GO HOME was the first of two movies based off the hit TV series THE MUNSTERS. In this
film, Herman inherits the Earl of Shoudshire and moves his family to England. The rest of the family in England
are trying to scare them away so they cane have the estate to themselves. Little do they know, but soon realize
that
THE MUNSTERS don't scare easily. They felt like they were making them feel welcomed. In the end of
the film is when Herman builds the famous Dragula race care and enters into the annual race in town. This is the
first time that
THE MUNSTERS were seen in color. This film was pretty cool and I actually enjoy this much
better than the TV show, which is great in itself. If your a fan of the TV show than you'll love this film as well.
OZONE (R) TEMPE VIDEO (1993)
Starring: James Black, Tom Hoover, Bill Morrison, Michael Cagnoli, Lori Scarlett & more.
Two detectives are in search of the kingpin who is responsible for creating the toxic chemical called
OZONE that
turns anyone who ingest it into the walking dead. He is trying to take over the crime world, so he is injecting his
enemies with this toxic drug to take them out. The problem is they are coming back to life as crazed zombies and
are looking to kill the kingpin. Within all this two detectives are trying to stop the kingpin and now have to fend
off the zombies as well. This was a pretty weak film, but there are some cool zombie parts mixed through out. If
your a true die hard zombie fan you'll want to check this film out, but if you just like the occasional Horror flick,
then you'll want to avoid this movie.
[REC] (R) SONY PICTURES (2007)
Starring: Manuela Velasco, Ferran Terraza, Jorge Yamam Serrano, Pablo Rosso, David Vert & more.
[REC] is a Spanish Horror film that the movie QUARANTINE is the remake of. The film follows a TV reporter
and her camera man that are doing a story on firemen working the late shift. They get a call to an apartment
building, so they ride along with the firemen. There are some people in the building panicking because of one of
the residents in the building attacked another. The police end up locking them all in the building and quarantine
them. They all start becoming infected and attacking each other. They become ravenous zombie like creature and
become very violent. The film is shot completely from the camera mans point of view. This film is very killer and
highly intense most of the way through out. Check this film out and then the remake, both are very cool films.

Every Horror fan knows of this film by now. I've seen the film hundreds of times but never actual reviewed it

lives. Once there they explore the house and find a book and tape recorder in the woods. The book turns out to be

from the book. This unleashes the evil spirits which posses the woods and eventually the people in th cabin. Ash
is the only one not possessed and ends up killing his friends, but the keep coming back to life as zombies. This
film is considered to be one of the best low budget Horror movies ever and after one viewing you will see why.
Every true Horror fan has seen this film dozens of times, but if your a new Horror fan this is a must.
THE MUNSTERS: SEASON 1 (TV) CBS TELEVISION (1964)
Starring: Fred Gwynne, Yvonne De Carlo, Al Lewis, Butch Patrick, Beverly Owen, Pat Priest & more.
In 1964
THE MUNSTERS first appeared on CBS Television. The characters were all kind of based on the old
UNIVERSAL classic monsters. The first season contained 38 episodes, which is a lot of episodes, but back then
we didn't have a million channels to watch. The show follows all the crazy antics of this family made up of
Frankenstein (Herman the father), Vampires (Lily the mother & Grandpa the grandfather), Wolfman (Eddie the
son) and the only real human (Marilyn the niece). They are put in all these different situations, but don't realize
they are not like everyone else. They are just your typical family that is a little bit unique. I loved watching this
show when I was growing up and still love it today. Every Horror fan should know of this great family!
THE MUNSTERS: SEASON 2 (TV) CBS TELEVISION (1965)
Starring: Fred Gwynne, Yvonne De Carlo, Al Lewis, Butch Patrick, Pat Priest & more.
The second season of
THE MUNSTERS started in 1965. This season was a little shorter and contained only 32
Episodes. In this season they continued with all the crazy antics that started in the first season. The jokes done
through out are all kind of cheesy, but that's what made the show so good. Herman is even more dimwitted than
ever, Grandpa is still making wacky potions and inventions that always backfire. Lily is the mother always trying
to keep the family together. Eddie keeps getting into trouble like little boys do. Marilyn is still trying to find a
boyfriend and get married. Everything goes well until they meet her family and she still thinks it's something she
has done. This is where every new young Horror fan should start with this very funny, wacky family.
THE
MUNSTERS
are the first family of Horror!
THE THAW (R) GHOST HOUSE UNDERGROUND (2009)
Starring: Val Kilmer, Martha Mallsaac, Aaron Ashmore, Kyle Schmid, Steph Song & more.
A group of young ecology college students are invited to help out an environmentalist in the Arctic. Once they
arrive they realize that something doesn't seem right. They have uncovered the body of a woolly mammoth that
was infested with parasites. The parasites start to thaw and need a new warm blooded host. The kids are station at
the base where they do their experiments. They explore the place cause no one is around. They find the lab and see
a polar bear lying on the table. Once they investigate they discover the bear is infested as well and they unleash the
parasites unto the base camp. The parasites start to eat away all of the students from the inside out and makes
everyone a bit spastic and crazy. This was a pretty decent film, that had a different kind of take on the killer at
large. This low budget film is better than most big budget films being made today!
THE UNBORN (R) ROGUE PICTURES (2009)
Starring: Odette Yostman, Gary Oldman, Cam Gigandet, Meagan Good, Idris Elba & more.
THE UNBORN is another remake of a Japanese film called UNBORN BUT NOT FORGOTTEN. A young girl
is being tortured by visions of a young boy attacking her. She doesn't know who the boy is or why he is doing
what he is to her. She starts to do some investigating in to who the boy is, but has no luck. She then turns to a
spiritual advisor in the form of a priest played by Gary Oldman. He tells her that this boy is a demon and he
wants to take over her body. They consult the girls family and then find out some past history on who the boy is.
The film is a little slow in some places, but still alright to check out. I suggest watching the original Japanese film
first because it is much better and creepier.
