THE HOLE (R) DIMENSION FILMS (2001) This movie is about a group of college kids who want to do something different for their holiday break. The one friend knows of the perfect place. He takes them to an old bomb shelter in the ground. Four of the teens decide to stay & party in the bomb bunker. One of the girls is obsessed with the one guy & will do anything to have him love her. As they continue to party all these strange things happen. Three of the teens die off in different ways & in strange ways. The one girl who lives to tell the story to detectives of the bizarre deaths, but there's a weird twist at the end that gives the movie a good turn & makes it a better movie than expected!
TOOLBOX MURDERS (R) LIONS GATE FILMS (2003) Starring: Angela Bettis, Brent Roam, Marco Rodriguez, Rance Howard, Juliet Landau & more horror movies & Tobe Hooper (TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, POLTERGIEST) made it. Well, I was quickly disappointed. This film was nothing like the original one. This one is about an old apartment building in Hollywood that has had mysterious things happening to people in the building since the 40's. The only thing the same is the killer uses tools as his weapons of killing. He uses a hammer, drill, electric saw, crowbar & more. The killer is hidden in some hidden corridors & holes all through out the building. There is a surprise with the killer in the end of the film, but it's something you might eventually suspect. There was a few gory parts, but nothing too great. I liked the original much, much better! www.TOOLBOXMURDERS.co.uk
WAR OF THE WORLDS (PG-13) DREAM WORKS PICTURES (2005) Starring: Tom Cruise, Justin Chatwin, Dakota Fanning, Tim Robbins, Miranda Otto & more I wasn't too sure about this film. I'm not a huge fan of Tom Cruise, but this was a Steven Speilberg movie, so it has to be some what good. The film starts off with Tom's character going to pick up his kids from his ex-wife. He shows up late & she is worried he won't be responsible & something bad will happen. It does, big time! A huge storm heads in & keeps shooting lighting down in the same spots. Come to find out it was shooting something in the ground. Up rises giant robots operated by alien life forms. They start incinerating people & blowing up buildings. The military comes into action, but they make no difference. There is a lot of intense action & special effects all through out the, but there's a typical Hollywood ending! www.WAROFTHEWORLDS.com

THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE (PG-13) SCREEN GEMS (2005) Starring: Laura Linney, Tom Wilkinson, Campbell Scott, Jennifer Carpenter, Colm Feore & more. I was a little iffy about this film, not knowing if it would be a good flick or not. This film is based on real events that happened to Anneliese Michel, a young German woman in the 70's. The film starts off in a small farm house with the family of the possessed girl. There is a police officer, a doctor & a priest also present in the house. The doctor declares Emily Rose dead & the police officer arrests the priest. The priest is held up in jail & is set to go to trial for the death of Emily Rose. As the court case unfolds we hear & see what happened to Emily & things that went on during her possession. This wasn't really a horror movie, but more of a suspense thriller. This film was pretty decent & worth watching!!! www.sonypictures.com/movies/EXORCISMOFEMILYROSE/site/

THE DEVIL'S REJECTS (R) LIONS GATE FILMS (2005) This is the second Rob Zombie film. The film is not a sequel to HOUSE OF A THOUSAND CORPSES, but a continuation of that film. The film starts out with the police storming an old run down farm house. The people inside are the maniacs who did all the killing in the first film. They start firing back at the police as they ambush the house. Some are killed & two escape. They capture the mother & lock her up for questioning. The two who escape go to a motel to wait for their father to meet up with them. They kidnap a music band who was staying there. They slaughter everyone & then some. Once the father arrives they go on the run from the police & a killing spree along the way. The film was very good, but there were a few parts that were slow moving, but it was a pretty good 70's style horror/violent flick!!! www.DEVILSREJECTS.com
