HORROR MOVIE REVIEWS
(May 2008)
CUT! (R) LIONS GATE FILMS (2000)
Starring: Molly Ringwald, Frank Roberts, Kylie Minogue, Geoff Revell, Jessica Napier & more.
A group of film students in college want to create a great film for their final project. They decide to do a
Horror movie for the project. This isn't any normal Horror movie though. They discover that a film crew
was making a Horror movie in the past & never completed it. The reason is that the film crew was all killed
off. The students want to complete the film so they head to the same location as the original crew. Once
filming classic slasher B movie Horror style. If you dig slasher flicks from the 80's then you'll really enjoy
this film as well!
FRIDAY THE 13TH: PART 5 A NEW BEGINNING (R) PARAMOUNT (1985)
Starring: Anthony Barrile, Suzanne Bateman, Juliette Cummins, Tiffany Helm, Carol Locatell & more.
This 5th sequel is considered one of the worst in the series. Jason was killed off in the last film, but has
returned as usual. This time he comes to terrorize some kids staying at a halfway house out in the middle of
nowhere. The acting is a bit cheesier than in other films of the series as well. The killings are done in the
classic FRIDAY THE 13TH fashion, but that's about the best of the film. It is later revealed that the "man
behind the mask" isn't actually Jason, but an impostor, which also makes the film less likeable. Only die hard
fans of this film series will truly love this film, but it's still OK for an 80's slasher flick!

they are also stalked by an evil & creepy preacher who is supposed to be the host of the evil spirits. With
the help form an Native American Indian Shaman they try to get rid of the evil for good this time. Most
sequels fall flat after such a successful original, but this film is as good as the original in many different ways,
especially cause the original cast is back again

always This is no ordinary festival. There is a huge twist at the end of the film that really ties everything
together. A little slow in the beginning, but really picks up about half way through! Worth checking out!
ROOM 6 (R) ANCHOR BAY (2006)
Starring: Christine Taylor, Shane Brolly, Chloe Moretz, Jerry O'Connell, Kane Hodder & more.
Christine Taylor is a teacher who's boyfriend picks her up after school one day. On the way home he
proposes to her & suddenly they get into a huge car accident. They take her husband away in an ambulance.
The problem is that they never told her which hospital. The guy in the other car has his sister taken away as
well. They try to find their loved ones together. She has a fear of hospital & must face that fear amongst lots
of other demons. The film kind of loses you in the beginning, but must be how the main character feels as
well. As the story moves along it pulls together & the mystery unravels. The film was a mix between THE
SIXTH SENSE & JACOB'S LADDER, pretty creepy at times!
THE BREED (R) COLUMBIA TRISTAR (2001)

In a futuristic time humans & vampires live amongst each other peacefully, until a string of murders happen

sent out to investigate the murders & find the vampire who is responsible. The police officers are a human &
vampire, who see things a bit different at times.  This film is a big mixture of action, Horror & vampire lore.
There are some really cool bloody parts mixed within as well. Not your typical Vampire film, but a new
twist on an old subject!
THE RUINS (R) DREAMWORKS (2008)
Starring: Jonathan Tucker, Jena Malone, Laura Ramsey, Shawn Ashmore, Joe Anderson & more.
A group of young American tourist vacationing in Mexico, decided to get a little culture before they head
home. They find a local to take them deep into the jungle to explore some old ruins. Once they arrive at the

make their way to the top & find a few tents from previous explorers, but no one else around. They have a
rope that leads down into the middle of the pit in the temple. They hear some cell phones ringing so they
decide to head down into the pit. This is where everything starts to go wrong. There are some pretty
gruesome & gory bloody parts in this film that really shock. This was not what I thought it would be, but it
was a really cool flick!

A mother & child are on a road trip when they stop at a bed & breakfast where things start going bizarre.
The little girl loses her tooth & then the evil witch known as the Tooth Fairy comes to kill the little girl.
There is an old story that the towns folk have told for years about the Tooth Fairy that comes & kills all the
towns children when they lose their teeth. The little girl is haunted & traumatized by this & tries to escape,
but she is stalked & hunted down by this evil witch. This is a different twist on an old childrens fairy tale
that will definitely give kids nightmares for a long time! This was a decent flick & well worth checking out!
VLAD (R) QUANTUM ENTERTAINMENT (2003)
Starring: Billy Zane, Paul Popowich, Kam Heskin, Nicholas Irons, Brad Dourif & more.
A group of college students head out to Romania to do their finale thesis on Vlad Tepes or Vlad The Impaler,
the original Dracula. What they don't know is that Vlad has been reincarnated & is alive & waiting for them.
The reason being that one of the students is a direct descendant of Vlad's bloodline. She has a necklace that
holds great power that has been passed down through generations. Once Vlad possesses it they will be all
powerful. The film was a little far fetched & really reaches. It was a bit slow in a lot of places & really
cheesy. Not one of Billy Zanes, best roles. His career has really gone down hill. I don't know what
happened?

ZODIAC (R) WARNER BROS. (2007)

clues for them to figure out who he is & when the next killings will be. The reporter becomes obsessed with
the murders & loses everything in his life while trying to find out who the killer is. This was a long movie,
but really kept you interested & waiting to see what happens next. The creepy thing is that this is based on
true events & that they never caught the killer!
