DAYBREAKERS (R) LIONSGATE (2009)
Starring: Ethan Hawke, Harriet Minto-Day, Claudia Karvan, William Dafoe, Sam Niel & more.
In the not too distant future Vampires walk among us. They still feed on humans for their blood, but the human
populations is getting thin. The Vampires quickly start to out number the humans, but this means their food
supply is running out. They are trying to create an alternative means of food, but start harvesting humans in the
process. Ethan Hawke & William Defoe characters decide to take them down and try to save the human race.
This was a very cool twist on the whole vampire genre. It was a mix of Action, Sci-Fi, Horror & Supernatural
all come together to create a very cool original flick. Even if your not a fan of Vampire films you might still
enjoy this killer movie.

JACK FROST (R) IMAGE ENTERTAINMENT (1997)
Starring: Scott MacDonald, Christopher Allport, Stephen Mendell, F. William Parker, Eilleen Seeley & more.
A prisoner named Jack Frost is being transferred to another facility when the transport vehicle collides with
another vehicle. The truck they collide with contains some genetic material that transform him. He mutates into
a crazed snow man with a plaid scarf and a carrot nose with a heart of coal. Why he was transformed into this
creature no body really knows, but it's a killer snowman, so who really cares. He goes on a killing spree in a
nearby small town. Most of the killings are kind of done comical, but some are pretty inventive. If it wasn't a
snowman and just a guy in a mask it wouldn't really be comical. This isn't a flick to watch over and over again,
but cool for one viewing. You also get to see Shannon Elizabeth in one of her first acting roles too.
LEGION (R) SCREEN GEMS (2010)
Starring: Paul Bettany, Dennis Quaid, Tyrese Gibson, Adrianne Palicki, Kevin Durand & more.
In the dawn of a major apocalypse a group of people held up in a small diner in the middle of nowhere end up
smack dab on the front lines. When a stranger arrives and reveals that he is the archangel Michael come to
protect them. As the demons arrive to kill them all, cause humans have gone too far to the dark side. God wants
them all wiped out to start over again. What they don't know is that the pregnant woman working at the diner is
carrying the new Messiah . This was a very cool film, that had a lot of cool special effects and a decent
storyline, even though I was able to figure it pretty quickly. This film is well worth watching over and over
again.

NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (REMAKE) (R) NEW LINE CINEMA (2010)
Starring: Jackie Earle Haley, Kyle Gallner, Rooney Mara, Katie Cassady, Thomas Dekker & more.
This a remake of the great Wes Craven slasher film from 1984. I'm not a big fan of remakes, because they are
either hit or miss. This one falls some where in the middle. Everyone knows about Freddy Krueger, the child
killer, but this film actually delves into the past of Krueger leading up to the time when the parents take revenge
into their own hands and burn him alive. The story follows closely to the original story, but they did change a
lot of stuff as well. I felt that the people they chose to play some of the most iconic roles in Horror didn't live
up to the originals. Maybe this is because I grew up with the original Freddy Krueger and the NIGHTMARE
films, that I couldn't really enjoy this as much as I would have liked. Robert Englund is the only true Freddy!

NIGHT OF THE DEMONS (R) REPUBLIC PICTURES (1988)
Starring: Linnea Quigley, Allison Barron, Billy Gallo, Cathy Podewell, Jill Terahita & more.
A group of teens (who look like they are all in their late 20's) decide to throw the ultimate Halloween party.
They find an abandoned mansion to have the party in. It is all locked up, but they break in and start partying.
During the fun they decide to have a little more fun, by doing a satanic ritual. They unknowingly unleash
demon spirits who eventually start possessing all the teens. They all start attacking each other and it becomes
a survival for each of their lives. This one has a lot of annoying factors, like the annoying teens and stupid
dialogue. It also has some very cool parts, like one of the nude scenes with Linnea Quigley amongst others.
Well worth watching at least a few times. There is a remake being released to DVD soon, so lets hope they
fixed all the bad stuff and kept all the good stuff!
THE CRAZIES (R) OVERTURE FILMS (2010)
Starring: Timothy Olyphant, Radha Mitchell, Joe Anderson, Danielle Panabaker, Christie Lynn Smith & more.
Here is yet another remake, but this time they got most of it right. This remake is of the George Ramero (...OF
THE DEAD series) of the same name. A plane crashes down in lake of a small town, which no one was really
aware of. This lake runs off into the towns drinking water. This water is polluted with some chemicals that
once people drink it they become crazy. The people of the town start becoming very violent and start killing
each other in brutal ways. The government sends in the military to round up the infected and start exterminating
them. This was a very killer remake that actually did it right for about 90% of the film. I saw a few flaws, but
for the most part this is a cool film that should be viewed by every Horror fan!

THE NUN (R) LIONSGATE (2005)
Starring: Anita Briem, Belen Blanco, Manu Fullola, Alistair Freeland, Christina Piaget & more.
A bunch of girls at an all girl boarding school are put through Hell by one of the Nuns who runs the place. She
tortures and abuses them mentally and physically. They suffer through the years and eventually graduate.
Many years later with a class ruin they all meet up again. Shortly after the reunion the girls are being killed off,
one by one. Each one in more brutal ways than the previous. They soon start to realize that it is the evil spirit
of the Nun come back to kill the girls. They soon reveal a secret of what happened to the Nun and how she
died, which is the reason she is back to kill these girls. This was a pretty decent flick, a little slow to begin
with, but has a few twists and cool parts. Worth giving at least one viewing.
THE PLAGUE (R) SCREEN GEMS (2006)
Starring: James Van Der Beek, Ivana Milicevic, Brad Hunt, Joshua Close, Dee Wallace & more.
I wasn't sure about this film, because it stars James Van Der Beek of Dawson's Creek fame. But it does also
star the great Dee Wallace. A small town is struck with an illness, but it seems to only be affecting the children.
They all fall sick and die, but come back and are full of violent rage. This violent rage is directed at the adults
of the town. They are sick of the adults having control and start attacking them for supremacy. It's an all out
battle and both sides won't give up. The film was O.K. It had some decent parts and kept my interest through
out. I've seen a lot worst films out there with the same basic story line, but I have also seen some that were
better. If your a fan of films like CHILDREN OF THE CORN or CHILDREN OF THE DAMNED then
you'll probably like this.
THE WOLFMAN (R) UNIVERSAL (2010)
Starring: Emily Blunt, Benicio Del Toro, Christina Contes, Anthony Hopkins, Simon Merrells & more.
This remake is based on the 1941 UNIVERSAL film of the same name. It takes place in Victorian England
where a town is being ravaged by a werewolf who is attacking and killing the towns folk. The film follows
Lawrence Talbot who returns home to make amends with his father. After helping to search for the werewolf
he gets attacked and bitten. He soon starts to transform into a werewolf himself. He goes on a killing spree and
becomes hunted by the towns folk. As he does more research he discovers who is the creature who turns him
into a werewolf. This is one of the better remakes to be done in the last few years. The original is a classic and
once this one is as old as the original it will be considered a classic as well.

WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE (PG) WARNER BROS. (2009)
Starring: Max Records, Cathrine Keener, Pepita Emmerichs, Max Pfeifer, Madaleine Graves & more.
This film is based off the Maurice Sendak book of the same name that came out in the 60's. It follows young
Max who after a fight with his mother imagines himself running away from home. He runs to the edge of the
land and takes a boat to a far off land where huge wild creatures live and roam free. They can talk and discover
Max and eventually make him their king. They laugh, play games, build forts and eventually become a family.
They know Max must one day leave, but do what ever they can to get him to stay. I loved this movie. It was
one of my favorite books growing up and now as an adult it is one of my favorite movies. An absolute must
watch!!!
