BLOOD: THE LAST VAMPIRE (ANIMATED) (UR) MANGA VIDEO (2000)
Starring: Youki Kudoh, Saemi Nakamura, Joe Romersa, Rebecca Forstadt, Stuart Robinson & more.
In this Japanese animation film a young girl named Saya is a secret slayer of Vampires and Demons. She is sent
undercover by a secret section of the military to seek out these creatures and destroy them. She poses as a new
student at a school and is quickly bullied and picked on. She quickly finds out that the students are being turned
into blood thirsty vampires. She must kill them all and try to survive along the way. This animated film came
before the live action flick. Both are extremely cool, slick and blend Japanese action with enough blood &
Horror to please many a Horror fans. The animated version is much more violent and gory than the live action
though both are well worth many viewings.

BOOK OF BLOOD (R) MATADOR PICTURES (2009)
Starring: Jonas Armstrong, Sophie Ward, Clive Russell, Paul Blair, Romana Abercromby & more.
BOOK OF BLOOD is based on early writings of the great Horror master Clive Barker. Mary is a paranormal
expert who along with a spiritual medium named Simon band together to investigate a mysterious house. The
house is supposedly haunted which many believe is from some murders that took place in the building. Once
they settle into the home strange things start happening. Some hostile spirits begin to speak through Simon in
very horrific ways. They soon start to realize that this home is a crossroads for tortured souls. The film starts
off a little slow, but then picks up and is quite creepy. The book explains everything a little more completely
and doesn't leave you as confused, especially the ending, but it's still a decent adaptation of Clive Barker's work.

This film takes place in the 19th century and follows a grave robber (Dominic Monaghan) who is facing the can

they are invading their business. The two groups try to kill off the other and find themselves in more danger
than they realize when the dead start returning to life and looking for revenge. The film is done with a little bit of
humor added in, but still stays kind of dark and eerie. A different twist on some of the Zombie genre films.

PINOCCHIO'S REVENGE (R) LIONS GATE FILMS (1996)
Starring: Candace McKenzie, Lewis Van Bergen, Ivan Gueron, Thomas Wagner, Janis Chow & more.
Now you know from the films title that your not going to get a high grade Horror flick here, but more of a fun,
just for the Hell of it low budget Horror movie. That's just what it is. Jennifer is an attorney who returns home
after a long day in court. She brings home some evidence with her, one thing being a wooden puppet. Her
daughter finds the puppet and believes it to be her birthday gift. She starts playing with it and just loves it to
death. This is when the puppet comes to life and starts wreaking havoc and killing anyone it can. A lot of this
film tries to play like a CHILD'S PLAY film and it's star Chucky, but it comes off more as a big laugh. There
aren't any real scary parts and plays more like a comedy or parody of the demonic toys or dolls type films. It's
an OK film for at least one viewing and would probably be better with a bunch of friends and some beers.
SAW 3D (R) TWISTED PICTURES (2010)
Starring: Tobin Bell, Costas Mandylor, Betsy Russell, Cary Elwes, Sean Patrick Flanery & more.
In this, the seventh SAW film in the franchise, we find a group of survivors from the Jigsaw killers traps. One of
the survivors has written a book on his experiences and how he survived. He has gone out on a book tour and
also leads the support group for the survivors. Each of the survivors tells their tales of how and why they were
chosen to take part in Jigsaws sick games. This time around we see the return of Cary Elwes as he calls bullshit
on some the survivors stories. He feels some of them are trying to ride the wave of hype from the killings. Tobin
Bell is still present in the flashback form of the stories. This is one of the better film in the series especially of
the later entries. If your a fan of this franchise then you'll dig this, but if not then you mine as well skip it.

SLAYER (NR) ANCHOR BAY (2006)
Starring: Casper Van Dien, Tony Plana, Kevin Grevioux, Jennifer O'Dell, Alexis Cruz & more.
This is a low budget Horror / Action flick that takes a slightly different take on the Vampire myths. It kind of has
a slight vibe like the BLADE films. Casper Van Dien is the captain of a squad of peace keeping soldiers. They
are sent out to remote South American jungle to investigate a series of brutal murders. Once they get there they
comes face to face with something they never would have expected. They must battle against some day walking
Vampires. The film plays out more like an action film than Horror, kind of a like PREDATOR meets ALIENS,
but with Vampires instead. A decent flick even though it's low budget and has two of my favorites in it with
Danny Trefor (MACHETE) & Lynda Carter (WONDER WOMAN).

SUMMER'S MOON (R) LANCE ENTERTAINMENT (2009)
Starring: Ashley Greene, Peter Mooney, Barbara Niven, Stephen McHattie, Cinthia Burke & more.
Summer set out to a rural town looking for her father who she has never met. She meets a young man who
befriends her and tries to help her find her father. He takes her back to his home and the trouble begins. He is
some deranged crazed serial killer who abducts people, tortures them and the kills them. He locks her in his
basement. She is tied into a pit dug in the floor, where he plans to bury her dead body and cover it up once he is
done having his fun. The difference here from other serial killer films is that he lives with his mother and father.
He tries to hide his secret from them, while Summer tries to win over her captor so she can escape. This is a low
budget film, bud actually has a decent story to it. If you dig serial killer films this is a decent one to check out.
THE DAMNED THING (TV-MA) SHOWTIME NETWORKS (2005)
Starring: Sean Patrick Flanery, Marisa Coughlan, Brendan Fletcher, Alex Ferris, Brent Strait & more.
Tobe Hooper directs this addition of the Showtime series MASTERS OF HORROR. The residents of a small
Texas town start going berserk and turn into a homicidal rage. Sheriff Kevin Reddle tries to figure what is taking
his town over. He soon fears that it is the same mysterious force that savagely took his father from him. He tries
to uncover the truth and stop it before it destroys his town and beyond. This was one of my favorite shows on
Showtime and was sad when it ended, but the show still lives on with these home releases. If your a fan of this
series or just Tobe Hooper's work then you must check out this film and the rest of the series.

Starring: Shawn Pyfrom, Reed Diamond, Greg Grunberg, Lucy Lawless, Erin Foster & more.
A hospitalized amnesiac is subject to some experimental drugs to try and recover his memories. They soon
realize what evil lurks in his mind when the drugs force him to experience visions of young women being killed.
He meets up with a teenage boy who takes him through a journey with his parents. His father is a photographer
and has a darkroom locked up in the house. No one is aloud to enter the room. The mother seems oblivious to
everything that is going on around her. The teenage boy and the amnesiac patient begin to investigate. They soon
discover something they never expected to find. This is more of a psychological thriller than a Horror flick, but it
messes with your mind enough to keep you interested. Check it out and see if you can uncover the secret
yourself.
