2001 MANIACS: FIELD OF SCREAMS (R) FIRST LOOK INTERNATIONAL (2010)
Starring: Bill Moseley, Lin Shaye, Christa Campbell, Nivek Ogre, Andrea Leon & more.
This is the sequel to director Tim Sullivan's film 2001 MANIACS. The citizens of Pleasant Valley have moved
up above the Mason-Dixon line to look for new victims in their sadistic gory pleasure. They set their sights on a
traveling reality show that is making a stop in Iowa. As the show begins so does the gore. There is a little
comedy mixed in with all the gore and killings. I really liked the first film a lot, so I was hoping this one was
going to be good. It was just as good as the first flick and is filled with tons of gore, violence and hot chicks, all
the right ingredients for a killer low budget Horror film. This film also had a decent story and good actors and
genre favorites like Bill Moseley (TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2, HOUSE OF A 1000 CORPSES) &
Lin Shaye (NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET).
CANDYMAN 2: FAREWELL TO THE FLESH (R) MGM (1995)
Starring: Tony Todd, Kelly Rowan, William O'Leary, Bill Munn, Matt Clark & more.
CANDYMAN is back again, but this time he is after some new victims. This time he appears in New Orleans
during Mardi Gras. He is after the decedents of the family who originally tortured and killed him. The legend is
spread all over New Orleans and everyone knows how to summon him. One future victim does exactly that by
saying his name in the mirror. Once he appears the blood begins to flow. This second film has a completely
different feel than the dark gritty feel of the original film. Tony Todd is one of the best Horror actors out there
and CANDYMAN is one of the most iconic rolls he has played. Any fan of his or this film series should have
seen this film by now. I've seen it multiple times. If you haven't seem it yet then you must. Just don't whisper
his name in the mirror or you might become the next victim.
ELVIRA, MISTRESS OF THE DARK (PG-13) NEW WORLD PICTURES (1988)
Starring: Cassandra Peterson, Phil Rubenstein, Larry Flash Jenkins, Damita Jo Freeman, Tress Macneille.
This was Horror hostess Elvira's full length feature film debut. After her great aunt dies, she is left the aunt's
house in an uptight stuff New England town called Falwell. She goes to claim the home and fix it up to resell it
for the money. When she gets there she finds out the house is haunted. Some of the town folk are after some of
the possession inside the house, but they don't let her know it. The majority of the town are freaked out by her
appearance and her little Punk Rock poodle. She just wants to sell the place and get out of there. She maybe a
little too late, because the town believes her to be a witch and want to burn her at the stake. I love Elvira and
everything she does and especially how she mixes comedy, Horror and sexiness together. This is a must!!!

HELLRAISER 3: HELL ON EARTH (R) DIMENSION FILMS (1992)
Starring: Doug Bradley, Kevin Bernhardt, Lawrence Mortorff, Terry Farrell, Ken Carpenter, Paula Marshall.
In this third installment the series starts to take a different direction. The story takes place in New York and
mostly in a night club. J.P. is the owner of the night club and also a lover of obscure art. He picks up a strange
looking column that actually contains the box and Pinheads face. During a struggle with one of his female
concurs some blood gets spilled on the column. The blood gets sucked inside and now the soul of Pinhead keeps
appearing to J.P. to bring him more flesh. Once enough flesh is consumed the Cenobites appear on earth lead by
"the pope of darkness" himself, Pinhead. This time we get to see more of Pinhead as well as some new
Cenobites. The people in the club get slaughtered and then the mayhem spills out into the streets. I love this film
the best right after the original film. A must for all fans of the HELLRAISER series and some good Horror gore.
HELLRAISER 4: BLOODLINES (R) DIMENSION FILMS (1996)
Starring: Bruce Ramsay, Doug Bradley, Valentina Vargas, Charlotte Chatton, Adam Scott & more.
In this fourth installment of the HELLRAISER series it is taken in another new direction. The film covers four
generations of people who are tied to the puzzle box. It starts out in the past centuries ago when a toy maker is
paid to create the puzzle box for a wealthy eccentric man. He was into some really bizarre and some satanic
ritualistic stuff. He slaughters some women and then the puzzle box gets filled with blood. Then we skip to the
present day where we see an architect has designed a building with the designs from the puzzle box. It is
supposed to be the building from the end of the third film where the box was buried in the foundation. The
family is then tortured by the Cenobites. Then we jump to the future with a bunch of people on a space ship
who are also being tortured by new Cenobites. This was the last of the good films in this series.
JOHNNY SUNSHINE (R) DISSOLVE PICTURES (2008)
Starring: Jan Argo, Sean Michael Argo, Shey Bland, Casey Halsell, Eric Halsell & more.
This film takes place during a post apocalyptic world where the earth is over run by Zombies, drugs and
violence. Times are tough and everyone needs to find something to entertain themselves so they use what is
around them. Johnny Sunshine is a beautiful but cold blooded killer assassin. She takes her Zombie killing
expertise and exploits it as the star of a reality show. It quickly becomes the world's most popular reality show,
but when ratings start to drop, her producer has some plans to boost the shows ratings. He plans to have her
killed off on the show. Once she finds out what her producer is up to she decides to take her skills behind the
scenes and kill off the producer and his crew. This film has a good concept, but was really slow moving, with
some bad dialogue and acting. I was kind of expecting a lot from this film, but was let down. There is some gore
and nudity, but not anything to really brag about. Watch it at your own risk!
PHANTASM 2 (R) UNIVERSAL PICTURES (1988)
Starring: James Legros, Reggie Bannister, Angus Scrimm, Pasula Irvine, Samantha Phillips & more.
The Tall Man and the sphere are back in this sequel to the classic 70's film. Mike who was the young boy from
the original film is released from a mental hospital after many years. He is still set on destroying The Tall Man,
played by Angus Scrimm, who robs graves for his dwarf henchmen. Mike seeks out his old friend Reggie to help
him in his quest. He mus try to find and destroy The Tall Man all while trying to avoid and survive his silver
spheres with deadly blades that he sends after them. Mike must accomplish all of this before The Tall Man can
get to the mysterious girl who keeps appearing in his dreams. This was a pretty decent sequel, with a good
story and acting, due in part that all the original actors play the same characters in the film. I still love the
original film the most, but this is a good second addition.
RUBBER (R) MAGNET RELEASING (2010)
Starring: Stephen Spinella, Jack Plotnick, Wings Hauser, Roxane Mequida, Ethan Cohn & more.
I wasn't sure what to really expect from this film, but it wasn't this. It was a really cool film and nothing like I've
ever seen before. They blend together drama, comedy & Horror all together better than any movie I have seen in
a while. The film follows a car tire named Robert that rolls through the desert using it's psychic powers to blow
up birds, bunnies and humans. Robert then spots a hot woman driving down the highway and decides to follow
her and see if he can get with her. Along the way he kills more people. The whole time there is a group of
spectators looking on and watching what Robert is doing. They don't believe it to be real until they finally
discover that the people who are dead are really dead. This was a really cool odd film about a killer tire with
psychic powers.

THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL (R) MAGNET RELEASING (2009)
Starring: Jocelin Donahue, Tom Noonan, Mary Woronov, Greta Gerwig, AJ Bowen & more.
This film takes place during the eighties and is about a cash strapped college student who takes a baby sitting
job. The baby sitting job just happens to be during a lunar eclipse and she ends up having to fight for her life. She
soon discovers that the parents Tom and Mary have a wicked sick and twisted secret. This was a pretty decent
flick that really captures the look and feel of the Horror flicks of the eighties. It was more of a super natural,
satanic witch craft type flick. It comes from the director of CABIN FEVER 2 and also stars one of the Horror
genres favorites in Dee Wallace (CUJO, CRITTERS, THE HOWLING, THE HILLS HAVE EYES, THE
FRIGHTENERS and more.

THE NUDE VAMPIRE (R) SOMETHING WEIRD VIDEO (1970)
Starring: Maurice Lemaitre, Caroline Cartier, Lylestrong, Bernard Musson, Jean Aron & more.
This is a classic French Horror flick from the seventies about vampires. It is an erotic vampire tale about Pierre a
wealthy hedonist who learns that his scientist father, George is carrying out experiments to unlock the secret of
immortality. He also discovers that his father is in a league with a ritualistic society involving vampires and evil
alien mutants. This was a decent flick, but a little slow most of the way through the film. Not much gore, but
enough nudity to make up for it. It's not one of the best foreign Horror flicks from the seventies, but it's
definitely not one of the worst. If your fan of these types of film you'll love this one, but if not, then you won't
want to waste your time with this flick.
