APE - AND THEN THERE WERE TWO
(3 track CD) BARRED RECORDS
APE hails from Toronto, Canada and have been a mainstay of the Canadian music scene since 2001.
These guys play combined mixture of Heavy Metal and Hard Rock. The music itself tends to lean
more towards Heavy Metal with some Thrash Metal parts in the guitar sound. There is a lot of
groove oriented parts as well that reminded me of PRIMUS at times. The vocals is where I hear a lot
of the Hard Rock influences coming into play. They have a Modern Hard Rock & Thrash Metal
vibe to their sound. These guys have progressed a lot since their last release "SURVIVAL OF THE
FITTEST". Check these guys out, cause they have a killer style and sound.

FASTKILL is a Japanese Thrash Metal band that just crushes all through out. These guys have an
old school style of Thrash Metal sound. They play in the vein of early SLAYER,
DESTRUCTION & VENOM. The music is really fast paced, chaotic and loud Thrash Metal. You
can hear all the killer shredding and riffing from the beginning stages of Thrash Metal in their
sound. The vocals are done in a mid ranged to higher style of Thrash Metal with a bit of a scream
mixed in. If your a Thrash fiend then you must check out FASTKILL. These guys will shred your
ear drums to bleed, but in a good way that keeps you wanting more. Thrash til' Death!

all these styles together that they like to call Crunkcore. Call it what you like, you have to admit
these guys do a great job creating a new and original sound. Love them or hate them,

Hailing from the black forest comes FINSTERFORST. These guys play fast paced Folk Metal
music. They blend together traditional Folk Metal influences with touches of Black Metal. The
music is faster than most Folk Metal bands out there. The thing that helps these guys stand out is
that they have added in an accordion player. You have never heard the accordion played so fast
before. There is some fantasy like moments in their sound as well. The vocals is where most of the
Black Metal influences come into play. They are throaty screechy Black Metal growls and screams.
These guys have been around for a few years now and should be a lot bigger that they are. One of

GRIM FORCE - CIRCULATION TO CONCLUSION
(7 track CD) WORLD CHAOS
GRIM FORCE is another Thrash Metal band hailing from Japan. These guys have an old school
Thrash Metal vibe that comes off a little raw and takes me back the beginning days when Thrash
Metal was still young. The music is hard hitting with heavy riffing and grooved out Thrash Metal.
The vocals are mid ranged harsh and a little throaty Thrash Style vocals. These guys remind me of a
combined mixture of PRO-PAIN, EXODUS, SLAYER & CARCASS. This is a killer combo, so
that means you must pick this disc up and blast it loud and often. This is a killer Thrash attack!

The Czech Republic maniacs in HEAVING EARTH are back with their first full length release.
These guys play some infernal dark Death Metal styled music. There is a ton of brutal blasphemy

HYDROPHOBIA is another band coming from Japan. These guys play a brutal mixture of Death
Metal and Grindcore. The music is pretty much balanced between the two styles. There is a fast
paced aggressive sound that just pounds the hell out of you all through out. At times the music
slightly leans more towards one style. They do add in some slower more grooved out or creeping
Grind parts then it slams back into the fast paced mayhem. The vocals are done in a lower ended
Death growl with some Grindcore gurgles mixed in. All the Grind heads out there will want to get
their hands on this release. They won't be disappointed!

Hailing from Denmark comes the Black Metal band ILLNATH. These guys have changed their
sound over they years and incorporated some different influences. They base their sound in Black
Metal, but add in some Death Metal influences and cover it with Symphonic Black Metal
elements. The music is well orchestrated and structured to make the band sound very full and
dynamic. There are some dark and cold passages that mix in with the bands sound. The vocals add
accompany the music very well with a combined low end Death Metal growl and a mid ranged
harsh Black Metal growl. These guys are a highly talented Black Metal band that deserves much

WARDAEMONIC separates themselves from most of the Black Metal bands in the scene today.
These guys rely heavily on tremolo picked fast riffing, consistent relentless blasting and cold harsh
brutality. They also add in some catchy, droning slow sections to change things up a bit. The music
is blanketed with brooding atmospheric moods and emotion. There is a strong coldness to their
sound through out the album. The vocals are done in a low ended harsh hallowed Black Metal type
