BLOODY MARY - WE ROCK, YOU SUCK!
(10 track CD) Self Released
BLOODY MARY is a three piece Hard Rock band out of France. These guys started back in 2005
& have been rockin' ever since. The music has a very cool 70's Hard Rock vibe with some mid 80's
Metal influences mixed all through out. The music is very grooving & definitely will get you
moving. I liked the crunchy guitars that reminded me of a
LED ZEPPLIN meets Jimi Hendrix type
vibe. Pierre's vocals have a bit of a dirty & gritty bar room Rock band feel to them. Bands that came
to mind were
AC/DC, JACKYL, DANGEROUS TOYS, AEROSMITH & GREAT WHITE. If
you dig any of these bands mentioned then your sure to getting into the rockin' sounds of
BLOODY MARY.

DEFLAGRATION - A CALL TO ARMS
(11 track CD) CRACKHOUSE MUSIC
Formed back in 1996 out of Ohio, comes this great heavy & grooving band known as
DEFLAGRATION. This being only the bands second CD release due to the usual many line up
changes most bands go through. Their music has been taken to the next level on this new release.
They play a dirty form of Heavy Metal with lots of Thrash, Speed & even some Death Metal
thrown in the mix. The music has a strong powerful groove that just shoves the music in your face.
The first band that came to mind when listening to these guys is one of my all time favorite bands,
PRO-PAIN! If you toss in some old CROWBAR, PANTERA & some new LAMB OF GOD
you'd get a some what close idea to how amazingly good this band is. Buy this album, it crushes!

DEVILMAKESTHREE - THE SUBSERVIENT
(7 track CD) INFECTED WOUND RECORDS
Formed in 2002 & many line up changes later, DEVILMAKESTHREE have unleashed their first
release. This is seven tracks of old school brutal Death Metal music with some twists. They take
many influences from the great 90's Florida Death Metal scene & add in some touches of intense
Speed Metal. This is mostly present in the guitars work. There is a bit of a heavy Death groove in
places in some of the songs. They remind me a lot of the first two
SIX FEET UNDER albums a
lot with some
MORBID ANGEL type parts. The vocals are where a lot of the SIX FEET
UNDER
influences come into play. If this CD is a prelude to what is to come I look forward to
see what these guys give us next. A great release for fans of old school Death Metal!

ENDSTILLE - VERFUHRER
(9 track CD) REGAIN RECORDS
ENDSTILLE comes right out & blasts the hell out of you right from the starts of the CD. They
never let up all through out the whole disc. You just keep getting pummeled with each new track.
They play a fast paced, hyper intense style of Death Metal that is smashed full on into Black
Metal music. The music has a spastic in your face sound that just shreds your eardrums, but in a
good way. There are blasts galore & super fast riffing. The vocals are done in a higher pitched
harsh raw Black Metal scream style. If your a fan of old school spastic Black War Metal bands
then you'll love this disc. I was extremely exhausted after listening to this that I felt I needed a nap.
Intense! 'Nuff said!

EYES SET TO KILL - THE WORLD OUTSIDE
(12 track CD) BREAK SILENCE RECORDINGS
before, so I was looking forward to their next effort. THE WORLD OUTSIDE shows how much
the band has evolved & improved. They have left behind some of their Screamo influences &
adding in some more Hardcore & Metal influences. The music is grooved out weather it is a slow
melodic pace or all out fast aggressive one. They blend the two opposites better than most bands
out there. The melodic aggression, the dual male & female vocals & the slow & fast parts are
balanced so well. They grew a quick fan base with the last release, but this one will surely sky
rocket them to the top of their scene. This is by far one of the best young bands to emerge in the
last few years! If you liked their last disc, then you'll love this new one. Amazing! Check it out!

IMPIETY - TERROREIGN
(10 track CD) AGONIA RECORDS
Holy Shit! If you ever wanted to feel like you were being dragged to hell, then this would be the
music is high intensity, fast paced riffing & blasting beats that just keep pounding the shit out of
you. The vocals are mid ranged almost Death Thrash like with some lower deep Death growls
mixed in. There was no resting point through out this disc. It was high speed adrenaline all the
way. I felt like I just ran a marathon after listening to this. There is a great balance between old
school & new school influences. If you heard their b=past releases, prepare yourself because
everything has been kicked up a few notches & improved in every area. If you can handle this, then
get it! Horns up!

NECROPHOBIC - DEATH TO ALL
(8 track CD) REGAIN RECORDS
Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden back in 1989 is NECROPHOBIC. These guys set out to
separate themselves from a lot of the bands in their scene. They went with a more darker & evil
sounding style. They delved into Death Metal & Black Metal with some faster Thrash Metal
influences mixed in. There are some very cool
SLAYER like sounds in the guitar work at times.
They play aggressive fast paced Death Metal with Black Metal elements spewed through out.
There is a strong cold vibe that blankets their sound all through out as well. The harsh throaty
vocals just adds to their diverse sound. Fans of old school Black Metal & Thrash Metal will
definitely love this band.

NECROS / ABNORM - SPLIT
(8 track CD) NIHILISTIC HOLOCAUST
This release is originally a split tape release. The split features two bands from France playing
Death Black Metal music. The first four tracks are from
NECROS. These guys have a very cool,
brutal old school Death Metal sound. The music is raw, fast paced with a cold vibe all through out.
There are some touches of Thrash & Black Metal mixed within too.  The last four tracks come
from
ABNORM. These guys play a similar style as NECROS. It's an old school Death Metal
sound with some cold harsh Black Metal elements present all through out. The music is very
spastic fast paced & raw. There are some slight grooves & change ups in certain areas, but for the
most part it's brutal & fast. Two very cool bands from France that should be giving some attention,
especially from all the old school Black Metal hordes out there!

FOUL STENCH / SKITZO - SPLIT PEA SOUP
(7" Record) Self Released
Nothing like getting a 7" in the mail to review from my good old friend, Burt Wolf to see an obese
woman puking her guts out on a park bench... At the same time I wouldn't expect anything else
from the kings of Vomit Metal,
SKITZO... ( a real picture I might add). I must tell you though I
keep the 7" cover laying on the
FOUL STENCH side of things. This is exactly the side I'm gonna
start my review as well. I'm not two familiar with the
FOUL STENCH crew, but from the
information in the sleeve, they have been around. Never a bad idea to start off a record with a clip
from a porno. Reminds me of all the Porno Grind stuff from Europe although those European
bands over do it sometimes. Still funny as hell though. Fitting I must say for the opening track
"Skull Fukd". I feel a touch of American style Gore Grind in their music as well. Pretty heavy stuff
and a good representation of a band I never heard of before. As for
SKITZO no need for
introductions. Good thing about this 7" is that the opening track "Skitzoid" was originally recorded
in 86. Totally has that D.R.I. Thrash feel to it. Before the days of Crossover. The second track
"House OF Demintia" offers you the classic
SKITZO  sound we all know & love. With everything
from killer solos, to spewing Gore from Lance himself. Humorous, yet heavy as fuck. How can
you not appreciate this? To top things off this 7" record is all green, again fitting for a
SKITZO
release. Which makes me think this is more a
SKITZO 7" than FOUL STENCH... Non the less,
this is a dope Thrash Metal 7" not just for fans of
SKITZO, but for people that like to fucking
bang their heads! A staple for anybody into 7"s and older Thrash. I know some
SKITZO fans are
gonna puke this up big time. Like green puke!

SLITER - PROMO 2009
(11 track CD) Self Released
This is just a promo CD release from the band SLITER out of Japan. These guys blend together
some elements of Thrash metal, Death Metal, Punk Rock & hardcore to create their sound. There
is a big crossover style happening here. The music mostly blends together the styles, but there are
sometimes when one style will dominate the song. There are some cool stop & start parts, change
ups & breakdowns with grooves. The vocals are mostly sung in Japanese with a few English ones
here & there. The first six tracks are new songs while the last five are new tracks. I liked the newer
ones a little bit more, they just seemed a little more well structured & thought out. Give 'em a
listen!

SPHERIC UNIVERSE EXPERIENCE - UNREAL
(9 track CD) SENSORY RECORDS
This is the third release from this Power Progressive Metal band. Their music really reflects the
name of the band a lot. They have a very atmospheric ethereal & mystical sound to their music.
It's very melodic & spacey like all through out. The music is very intricate & well structured with
lots of twists & turns through out. They have a bit of Thrash or Speed Metal elements present in
their songs as well. The vocals are strong powerful melodic mid ranged Power Progressive styles.
Their last album was highly impressive & this new effort surpasses that one by far. Any fan of
Prog Power Metal should have this release in their collection!

TIM RIPPER OWENS - PLAY MY GAME
(12 track CD) SPV / STEAMHAMMER
I'm sure by now every Metalhead out there knows who Tim Ripper Owens is. He replaced Rob
Halford in
JUDAS PRIEST back in 1996. Since 2003 when he left PRIEST he has done work in
ICED EARTH, BEYOND FEAR & also worked with Yngwie Malmsteen. This is his first solo
album where he has written & composed by himself or with friends. This is still in the vein of past
things he has done, but also has him stretching his talents a bit further. The music is still in the
Power Heavy Metal range with some different twists. Owen's vocal styling is one of the best ever
& here he proves why. This is a must for all fans of his past projects as well as great vocalist such
as Rob Halford, Ronnie James Dio. Owen's still reigns supreme in my book as one of the best
singers in Metal ever! This release is all the proof you need!
